Alliance creative scholarship gets high marks
Ten entrepreneurs launch businesses in pilot program
A $750 scholarship might not seem like much. But when the recipient is trying to start a small business, that boost is much bigger than it seems. The Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance launched a Creative and Culinary Entrepreneur Scholarship this year, and the early results are promising.
According to Main Street Association director Susan Alexander, 10 budding entrepreneurs received scholarships after successfully applying earlier this year. Most of the start-ups launched in March; six culinary and four creative entrepreneurs. Though the effort just started, she already sees success.
