Bolser to leave county council
Long-time county government, political leader relocating to Richmond
Howard County government received some unexpected news on June 20 when County Council president Jamie Bolser disclosed that she will be stepping down from office in the near future. In an email circulated to county officials, Bolser revealed that she will be relocating to Richmond. As a result, she no longer will serve on the council. No timetable for the departure was given.
Bolser has been involved in county government for most of the past 23 years, having previously served as the Howard County Assessor for most of two terms. She left that office early as well, resigning in April 2014 prior to completion of her second term in order to take the role of treasurer for the Northwestern School Corp.
