The Very Early Childhood Education Center (VECEC) celebrated its grand re-opening on Aug. 9, and a crowd turned out to see the many new offerings the center features, thanks to an expansion into a larger room that is perfect for play.

The event even drew Mayor Tyler Moore, who happily proclaimed the day in the center’s honor.

Members of the Greater Kokomo Chamber of Commerce join with VECEC staff to cut the ribbon on the center’s grand re-opening.

“It is an amazing transformation of the space,” said Moore. “Thank you and kudos to the United Way for making it available. To have a space as wonderful as this is amazing.”

Stacie Gollner, director of VECEC, explained that the center was able to expand into the larger area thanks to the generosity of United Way of Howard County, which hosts the center and allowed it to take over the large meeting room on the first floor. The added space was sorely needed, she said.
