The City of Kokomo is expanding public EV charging options and implementing a charging fee. In partnership with Erik’s Chevrolet, it has installed new EV charging units at several parks: Northwest, Championship, Highland, and Jackson-Morrow. Additionally, charging stations have been upgraded at both the downtown parking garage on North Union Street and the Superior Street parking garage.
The charging units will cost $1.50 per hour for the first four hours, then $3 per hour afterwards.
Designated “EV Only” parking spaces are strictly for vehicles being charged. There is no additional fee for parking, however, non-EV motorists parking an EV space may face a fine.
The units are Level 2 CoRe+ units with 7.2kw charging. To best use the chargers, download the free, FLO EV Charging app, by visiting your phone app store or going to: https://www.flo.com/products/software/flo-mobile-app/
The app will show a map of all FLO E.V. Charging units within the continental U.S., individual costs for using a particular charger, and whether the chargers are in-use.
