Meditation Mondays
Experience change, growth, and vitality through meditation with Raine and Sage Healing Center, 901 S. Courtland Ave. Sessions take place every first and third Monday of the month from 10-10:45 a.m. and are free to all. The next session takes place on Mon., July 7.
Super Explorers Camps
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department is expanding its Super Explorers Camp this year, offering two sessions of both Junior and Senior Super Explorers Camps. Registration for the second camps sessions is open now. Junior Super Explorers for children ages 5-8 will be July 7-11, and Senior Super Explorers for children ages 9-11 takes place July 14-18. The camps will run from 9 a.m. until noon each day. To register, visit the KPRD office in Highland Park.
Under the Sea Adventures
Join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library on Mon., July 7, for some Under the Sea Adventures. For this exciting, ocean-themed outdoor adventure, kids can engage in fun activities that spark creativity and curiosity. The adventures run from 10-11 a.m. at the library’s Russiaville branch, 315 Mesa Dr.
Story Time on the Porch
Join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library on Mon., July 7, for story time on the porch of the LEAD Center (4-H fair office) at the Howard County Fairgrounds. You'll hear guest readers share their favorite stories from 2-2:30 p.m. and from 6-6:30 p.m. Story Time will take place daily through July 10 at this venue and at these times.
Messy Art Day
Get ready to get messy! Join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library for an outdoor art adventure where creativity knows no limits on Tue., July 8, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. We’ll be diving into splatter painting and other hands-on, colorful activities. Dress for a mess! This event takes place at the library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road.
Maker Zone
Join the Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., on the second Tuesday of each month for crafts and fun in the Maker Zone. The next session takes place Tue., July 8, from 3-4 p.m.
Rainbow Fuel

CrisisReady is covering this and more during its July presentations. Free preparedness items and resources will be available to participants. This event takes place on Thu., July 10, at 5:30 p.m. at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library, 220 N. Union St. Plus, learn QPR Suicide Prevention from 10 a.m. until noon on July 10. The signs of mental health crisis are all around us. Through three simple steps, you can be equipped to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives through innovative, practical, and proven suicide prevention training. Fridays at the Greentown Library
The Summer Reading Program at the Greentown Public Library, 421 E. Harrison St., is packed with activities for children. Each Friday at 1 p.m. through early July, the library will feature special programming. On July 11, it’s time to Taste the rainbow, wrapping up the reading program with rainbow-themed snacks.
Shadow Bouquets
Join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library, 220 N. Union St., on Fri., July 11, from 2:30-5 p.m. and build a small bouquet, pick your light source, and trace the shadows. Decorate your shadow tracing however you please. Teens only.
GoldStars Tribute Wall
The GoldStars Tribute Wall will make a stop in Kokomo on July 11-12 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1152, 920 N. Washington St. The wall will be accessible from 6-10 p.m. on Fri., July 11, and from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Sat., July 12. There will be a Never Forget Ride on July 12, with sign-in beginning at 9:30 a.m. An accompanying Indiana Fallen Heroes display will be accessible from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on July 12.
Artworks Artist Reception
The Kokomo Art Association welcomes Brandon C. Bass as its guest artist for July. Bass’ work has been displayed across the nation. A reception for the painter will be held Sat., July 12, from noon until 3 p.m. at the Artworks Gallery, 210 N. Main St. Light refreshments will be served.

Yoga in the Park
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department welcomes back Yoga in the Park, featuring 11 free yoga sessions in three different public parks. The sessions are open to all skill levels and are totally free to the public. Classes will take place in Jackson Morrow Park at the shelter from 6-7 p.m. on Sat., July 12, Aug. 9, and Sept. 20. Highland Park will host classes at the Earthen Stage from 8-9 a.m. on Sat., July 19, and Aug. 2. Foster Park will feature yoga at the Performing Arts Pavilion from 8-9 a.m. on Sat., July 16, Aug. 23, and Sept. 6. KPRD does not supply mats or other equipment.
Solidarity Members Beach Party
Solidarity Community Federal Credit Union will hold a members-only Beach Party on Mon., July 14, at the Kokomo Beach Family Aquatic Center, 802 W. Park Ave., starting at 7 p.m. Solidarity members receive free admission with their membership card or Solidarity debit card. They also receive a free cup of ice cream. No reservations are necessary.

Mobile Food Pantry
Food Finders Food Bank will offer a mobile food pantry on Thu., July 17, at New Life Church, 1803 E. Vaile Ave. Drive-through distribution will begin at 10 a.m. Do not arrive prior to 9:30 a.m. Remain in your vehicle.
Dog Days of Summer
The Kokomo Humane Society’s Dog Days of Summer will take place Thu., July 17, from 5-9 p.m. Stop by the Humane Society for carnival games, food, and fun, and feel free to bring your pets.
Carver Summer Basketball League
The Carver Community Center will offer a Summer Basketball League from July 17 to Aug. 21. Games will be played each Thursday evening, and teams are guaranteed six games. There will be a seeded and bracketed tournament to finish the season with a championship trophy. Registrations are open now for players in grade divisions K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. The cost is $35 for individuals or $150 for teams. All games will be played at the Carver Community Center, 1030 N. Purdum St. Register online by visiting www.kokomocarver.org. Rising Star Vocal Competition
Rhine Hall Entertainment and Event Venue, 507 N. Union St., will hold the finals of the Rising Star Vocal Competition on Fri., July 18, beginning at 7 p.m., with the finalists competing for the top prize of $500. There will be hundreds of dollars in other prizes awarded to competitors. Benefits from this competition will go to Rhum Academy of Music. Turn the Page Book Club

Kokomo’s Funniest Comedian
Calling all comedians! Rhine Hall Entertainment and Event Venue will hold its second annual Kokomo’s Funniest Comedian competition every Friday evening in September, with a grand finale taking place Oct. 3. Registration is open now for comedians seeking to compete. Registration deadline is July 28. Submit your three-minute performance video to rhinehall.gary@gmail.com. Each week, a panel of judges will select a winner from a round of competition who will advance to the finals. Those in attendance also have a chance to advance a comedian through people’s choice voting. The winning comedian will receive a $500 cash prize, a trophy, and paying gigs at an upcoming Rhine Hall comedy showcase and as the host of the 2026 competition.
YMCA Golf Outing
The Kokomo Family YMCA’s annual golf outing will take place Wed., July 30, at Chippendale Golf Course, starting at 1 p.m. The event will include various contests, including longest drive, closest to the pin, a $10,000 putting competition, and more. All proceeds from this event will be designated to the YMCA’s annual campaign, which allows the YMCA to provide financial assistance to those in need, regardless of age, income, or background, to ensure they have access to Summer Camp, swim lessons, and youth sports.
KPRD Fall Softball
Registration is open now for the Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department’s fall softball league, featuring men’s and co-ed divisions. Registrations will remain open through Aug. 1. Haworth Class of ‘80
The Haworth High School Class of 1980 will hold its 45th Reunion on Sat., Aug. 2, from 5-9 p.m. at the Columbian Club of Kokomo, 1631 Foxfire Lane, at the Wildcat Creek Golf Course. Creamed Corn Chug
The Literacy Coalition of Howard County will take center stage at the 2025 Floating Lantern and Foodie Feast-ival at Beaver Point Campground in Windfall on Sat., Aug. 2, at 7 p.m. It will be the recipient of proceeds from a creamed corn chugging contest fundraiser. Participants will pay $25 to prove they are the fastest at consuming a 60 oz. pitcher of creamed corn. The fastest, cleanest chug will take the title. Jammin’ 4 the Camp
Join Professional Firefighters of Kokomo Local 396 on Sat., Aug. 9, for Jammin’ 4 the Camp, a Jeep Jam to benefit the Hoosier Burn Camp. From 5-10 p.m. in Foster Park, Jeep owners and their families will take part in a fun day in the park, and the public is welcome to attend. Music will be provided by Mast American Guitar and Ike ‘n’ Rory & the Rhythm Riders. There will be local food trucks, a beer tent, and a 50/50 raffle.

Tailgate at the Library

The Senior Games
The Area Five Agency on Aging and Community Services is planning to offer the Senior Games, a celebration of the strength, spirit, and community of senior citizens. The Senior Games will be held throughout September across the Area Five region. In Kokomo, the Senior Games will take place Wed., Sept. 17. Area Five is currently seeking donations from the community to help make this event a success.
