KAA Spring Art Show
The Kokomo Art Association’s 97th Annual Spring Art Show takes place now through June 1 at the Kokomo Art Center, 525 W. Ricketts St. The center is open Tue.-Sat. from 1-4 p.m. A reception for the artists will be held Sun., June 1, at 2 p.m. at the art center.
Meditation Mondays

YMCA Summer Camp 2025
Registration is now open for the Kokomo Family YMCA’s Summer Camp at Camp Tycony. Finalize your summer plans and register your child for the best summer ever. KPRD Recreation Adventure
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department will hold its Recreation Adventure Program at Highland, Bon Air, and Mohr parks beginning Mon., June 2, and continuing through July 8. On Monday through Friday each week, from noon until 5 p.m., staff will be on hand at each park to offer leadership and organized games and sports for children, who may come and go on their own. Playgrounds will be supervised during these times. The staff also will offer arts and crafts, games, picnics, storytelling, and on Fridays they will offer special crafts. The cost of crafts will be $1 or less.

Summer Reading Program Kick-Off
Kick off a summer filled with art and creativity! Join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library, 220 N. Union St., on Fri., June 6, from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. to sign up for the Summer Reading Program, earn prizes, and enjoy fun crafts and activities during its annual kick-off party.
KSO TV Dinner
The Kokomo Symphony Orchestra will hold its sixth annual TV Dinner Fundraiser on Sat., June 7, at The Hobson, 110 N. Washington St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with a performance from the KSO Quartet. The theme of this year’s sing-along celebration is the Wild West. Join the KSO for dinner and music, trivia, live and silent auctions, and more. KATS Youth Athletic Camps
Kokomo High School will offer action-packed summer with its youth athletic KATS - Kids Active Training and Skills - Camps. Throughout June and July, expert coaching will be offered in baseball, basketball, football, soccer, softball, speed and strength training, tennis, and track and field, as well as a youth wrestling clinic, with former Iowa University standouts. Adult Summer Reading Program
The Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will hold its annual Adult Summer Reading Program from June 2 through July 11. Sign up and receive a reading log. Check out books and turn in your registration sheets to get summer started right! Win fantastic prizes by just reading for two hours. Prizes are awarded for up to 10 hours of reading, and whenever you visit the library to borrow books. Taylor Summer Food Program
The Taylor Community School Corp. will offer a summer food program from June 2-20. Meals will be free to all children aged 18 or younger with no application or proof of income needed. All meals must be eaten on-site. Adults may purchase a meal for $4. Reach Youth Summer Program
Looking for a summer program for the kids while they’re out of school? Turning Point will offer a Reach Youth program, Monday through Friday, from June 2 through July 25 at its Reach Youth Office, 216 W. Walnut St. From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day, kids will experience educational trips, sports and recreation, social enrichment, arts and crafts, relationship building, and free lunch. Preschool Programs at Greentown Library
The Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will offer a variety of programs throughout the summer for preschoolers. Register for these sessions by calling 765-628-3534. On Mondays in June, enjoy Babes in Story Land from 11-11:30 a.m., beginning June 2. This program is designed for children ages 0-2. Every Tuesday in June from 10:30-11:30 a.m. will bring Story Hour for children ages 4-5, beginning June 3. On Thursdays in June from 11-11:30 a.m., relive your favorite Mother Goose tales with your 3-year-olds, beginning June 5. On Mon., June 30, get messy with your preschoolers as you paint as 4th of July t-shirt, beginning at 11 a.m. On Tue., July 1, at 11 a.m., it’s time for your little ones to make friends and explore color. On Thu., July 3, Wrangler and Friends visit the library at 11 a.m. to show how much Wrangler loves color.
Painting at the Greentown Library

Closing the Gap
The Carver Community Center, 1030 N. Purdum St., will hold its annual Closing the Gap Summer Camp from June 3 through July 3. The camp takes place each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. through those dates. The camp provides classes focusing on language, computer skills, reading, mathematics, and STEM. The classes are led by licensed teachers, and instruction is given based on Indiana state standards. Northwestern Schools Summer Meals
Northwestern School Corp. will offer a summer meal program, free to all friends ages 18 and under. Beginning Tue., June 3, meal pick-up will be available at Howard Elementary School, 3526 N, CR 300 E, at Door 2, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. every Tuesday. The last day of distribution will be July 15. Each child will receive five breakfasts and five lunches. Visit www.nwscnutrislice.com to review the summer menu. Water Spray

Kokomo Park Band Concert
The Kokomo Park Band returns on Wed., June 4, to perform Music from the Heartland, beginning at 7:30 p.m. on the Highland Park Stage. Wednesdays at the Greentown Library
The Summer Reading Program at the Greentown Public Library, 421 E. Harrison St., is packed with activities for children. Each Wednesday at 1 p.m. through early July, the library will feature special programming. On June 4, Chalk the Block and transform the sidewalk around the library lot into a colorful masterpiece. On June 11, Color Your World with a beautiful porch spinner. On June 18, discover how to make scratch art sheets. Then, design a creation to take home and enjoy. On June 25, create a colorful sun catcher to brighten up any space. On July 2, dive into the MESStival and leave with a messy masterpiece of your own. On July 9, design a one-of-a-kind paper collage placemat using paper scraps. Take it home the same day or leave it to be laminated.
The Uncanny Exhibition
The IU Kokomo Art Gallery is searching for something strange. The Uncanny Exhibition will take place June 4-25, and the gallery is inviting artists to submit their unnatural or otherworldly artwork. CrisisReady Preparedness
Do you know the best ways to receive updates and alerts about severe weather and other disasters? Have you heard of the county’s Smart911 system and the advantages it has during 911 calls? 2025 Kokomo Strawberry Festival
The 27th annual Strawberry Festival takes over downtown Kokomo on Friday, June 6, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. For just $8, enjoy the festival’s signature dessert. Come early, as shortcake is served until 7 p.m. or while supplies last. There will be more than 175 booths featuring food, artisan goods, handmade gifts, and festival favorites. Live music and entertainment will fill the streets with energy and local talent. The Artsapalooza Art Market will take place during the event. There will be hands-on art activities and play zones perfect for kids and families, including the ABATE Tiny Tots Motorcycle Experience. Craft beer and cocktails will be served throughout the walkable downtown festival area. Admission is free and all ages are welcome. Each year, artists gather downtown during the Strawberry Festival for the Kokomo Plein Air Paint Out. These paintings will be displayed in the Kokomo Art Center during the month of June. There is no entry fee or registration required. The session runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the festival. To have your painting displayed, drop it off from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Artworks Gallery, 210 N. Fridays at the Greentown Library
The Summer Reading Program at the Greentown Public Library, 421 E. Harrison St., is packed with activities for children. Each Friday at 1 p.m. through early July, the library will feature special programming. On June 6, dress up in your brightest colors and get ready for a Technicolor Dance Party. This event will include black lights, strobe lights, and loud music. On June 13, head to Suburban Lanes in Tipton for an afternoon of Cosmic Bowling under the disco lights, complete with booming music and tons of fun. On June 20, go Somewhere Over the Rainbow with library. Follow the yellow brick road and gather all the pieces needed to create a rainbow craft. Don’t miss this choose-you-own-adventure experience! On June 27, declare a Color War! Meet on the Comet Trail near the T-ball field to jog through rainbow clouds, then cool off with a splash on the library lawn. On July 11, it’s time to taste the rainbow, wrapping up the reading program with rainbow-themed snacks.
Bob Moore Organ Recital
Bob Moore, a church organist for more than 50 years, will perform an organ recital featuring the works of Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Wagner, French, and contemporary pieces, concluding with the playing of The Lord’s Prayer. The recital takes place Fri., June 6, beginning at 7 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 212 W. Walnut St. A reception will follow.
Skateboarding Lessons
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department will offer skateboarding lessons this summer. Registration is open now until June 6 by visiting the KPRD office in Highland Park. The cost of the lessons is $30, and the class dates are June 11, 18, 25, and July 2, 9, 16. Class time is 8:30-9:30 a.m. Elbow and knee pads and helmets can be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own.
Line Dancing
The Carver Community Center, 1030 N. Purdum St., holds a free Line Dancing class the first Saturday of each month, taught by Tina Robinson. Summerfest Weekend returns to Kokomo June 20-22, featuring entertainment, food, and shared experiences. And the celebration is already underway! Ignite Your Future Camp
Indiana University Kokomo will host Ignite Your Future Camp on June 9-12, and it is looking for alumni volunteers willing to help inspire middle schoolers through hands-on career exploration, self-awareness, and college readiness activities. Community Expo
Join the Center Township Trustee’s Office on Thu., June 12, as it hosts a fun-filled day at the Community Expo and Resource Fair. The event runs from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and takes place at the Center Township Trustee’s Office, 213 E. Birdies, Bourbons, and Beers
Soupley’s Wine and Spirits will team up with DSI Together with Bona Vista to present the annual Birdies, Bourbons, and Beers Golf Classic on Fri., June 13. This nine-hole event takes place at Wildcat Creet Golf Course, 3200 Timber Valley Dr. Lunch starts at noon, and the golf begins at 1 p.m. Registration is $400 per team. Widows Ride
Widows’ Purse will present the Widows Ride on Sat., June 14. This motorcycle ride will start and end at the Grissom Air Force Base Pavilion. Registration runs from 9-11 a.m., with kickstands going up at 11:10 a.m. Cost of the ride is $20 for riders and $10 for passengers. All types of bikes are welcome to participate. Also, enjoy music, food, and prizes at the Pavilion. Vendor space is available for just $25. This event is organized with the assistance on the Indiana Widows Sons Tenets Chapter.
Greentown Glass Festival
The Greentown Main Street Association announces the Greentown Glass Festival, scheduled for June 14, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. in downtown Greentown. Five local bands will perform throughout the day. At noon, Sarah Barton and 2nd That Band performs, followed by Sonic Union at 2 p.m., the Medicinal Bluegrass Band at 4 p.m., the Keyton Romero Band at 6 p.m., and the Blue Collar Union at 8 p.m. A cruise-in will take place during the day at the Greentown American Legion Post 317. Yoga in the Park
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department welcomes back Yoga in the Park, featuring 11 free yoga sessions in three different public parks. The sessions are open to all skill levels and are totally free to the public. Classes will take place in Jackson Morrow Park at the shelter from 6-7 p.m. on Sat., June 14, July 12, Aug. 9, and Sept. 20. Highland Park will host classes at the Earthen Stage from 8-9 a.m. on Sat., June 21, July 19, and Aug. 2. Foster Park will feature yoga at the Performing Arts Pavilion from 8-9 a.m. on Sat., June 28, July 16, Aug. 23, and Sept. 6. KPRD does not supply mats or other equipment.
Creamed Corn Chug
The Literacy Coalition of Howard County will take center stage at the 2025 Floating Lantern and Foodie Feast-ival at Beaver Point Campground in Windfall on June 14 at 7 p.m. It will be the recipient of proceeds from a creamed corn chugging contest fundraiser. Participants will pay $25 to prove they are the fastest at consuming a 60 oz. pitcher of creamed corn. The fastest, cleanest chug will take the title. Super Explorers Camp
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department will offer its Super Explorers and Junior Super Explorers camps this summer. The Junior Super Explorers Camp runs from June 16-20 for children ages 5-8. Super Explorers Camp for ages 9-11 takes place June 23-27. Registration is open now, and the cost is $30 per child. Visit the parks department office in Highland Park to register.
Lilly Scholarship Information Night
The Community Foundation Serving Howard, Clinton and Carroll Counties will hold a Lilly Scholarship Information Night on Tue., June 17. This session, designed for seniors in the Class of 2026, will take place in Hingst Hall on the Ivy Tech Community College campus in Kokomo, 1815 E. Morgan St. Receive an overview of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship and learn about eligibility and application requirements. Also learn tips for submitting a strong application.
