Carvers Club Exhibition
The Greentown Public Library, 421 S Harrison St., will feature works from the Eastern Woodland Carvers Club in an exhibition from June 8-15. Sculpting at the Greentown Library
Throughout June, the Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will hold special programming each Monday from 2-3 p.m. On Mon., June 9, explore the art of sculpting. The library will provide air-dry clay and a variety of sculpting tools to help you shape, mold, and bring your artistic vision to life. All skill levels are welcome!
Heroes Don’t Have to Fly
Dive into the enchanting world of Shannon Anderson's beloved book, “Heroes Don't Have to Fly.” The Kokomo Howard County Public Library, 220 N. Union St., will host a hands-on activity on Mon., June 9, from 2-3 p.m. encouraging creativity and artistic expression as you color your world with kindness.
Adult Technology Camp

Yard Waste Collection
The City of Kokomo will perform one round of yard waste collection, beginning Mon., June 9. Residents should move their yard waste to the curb before June 9 as city crews will make just one pass through the city before road construction season begins.
Bookmobile Craft and Story Time
The KHCPL Bookmobile will visit Jackson Morrow Park on Tue., June 10, from 9:30-11 a.m. for crafts and story time. The bookmobile also will be open to sign up for the Summer Reading Program and to check out items.
Art Therapy for Teens
Brooke Komar, a board-certified art therapist and licensed mental health counselor, will teach to channel emotions into the art-making process at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library, 220 N. Rising Star Vocal Competition
Rhine Hall Entertainment and Event Venue, 507 N. Union St., will hold a Rising Star Vocal Competition on June 13 and June 27, with the finalists competing on July 18 for the top prize of $500. There will be hundreds of dollars in other prizes awarded to competitors. Benefits from this competition will go to Rhum Academy of Music. Widows Ride
Widows’ Purse will present the Widows Ride on Sat., June 14. This motorcycle ride will start and end at the Grissom Air Force Base Pavilion. Registration runs from 9-11 a.m., with kickstands going up at 11:10 a.m. Cost of the ride is $20 for riders and $10 for passengers. All types of bikes are welcome to participate. Also, enjoy music, food, and prizes at the Pavilion. Vendor space is available for just $25. This event is organized with the assistance on the Indiana Widows Sons Tenets Chapter.
Bike Safety Rodeo
Grab your bike and helmet and join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library on Sat., June 14, from 10 a.m. until noon, as the Russiaville Police Department teaches bike safety. If you don't have a helmet, the library will have one for you. This event takes place at the library’s Russiaville branch, 315 Mesa Dr.
Greentown Glass Festival
The Greentown Main Street Association announces the Greentown Glass Festival, scheduled for June 14, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. in downtown Greentown. The event is co-sponsored by McCool’s Flooring of Kokomo and the Greentown Main Street Association. Five local bands will perform throughout the day on a stage sponsored by First Farmers Bank and Trust. At noon, Sarah Barton and 2nd That Band performs, followed by Sonic Union at 2 p.m., the Medicinal Bluegrass Band at 4 p.m., the Keyton Romero Band at 6 p.m., and the Blue Collar Union at 8 p.m. A cruise-in will take place during the day at the Greentown American Legion Post 317, sponsored by Century Villa. Craft vendors will set up downtown from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. The Greentown Farmers Market will operate from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. From noon until 6 p.m. Josiah White’s will hold a Family Fun Zone from noon until 6 p.m. A parade will run through downtown, leaving from Eastern High School at 11 a.m. Food trucks will be present throughout the day. The National Greentown Glass Association will hold its annual convention on June 13-14 in conjunction with the event. Take Flight: Birds of Prey
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department will hold its next Creature Feature on Sat., June 14, at the Kirkendall Nature Center in Jackson Morrow Park. From 11 a.m. until noon and from 1-2 p.m. bird lovers of all ages can enjoy getting up close and personal with a variety of birds of prey. This is event is free and open to the public.
Greentown Glass Festival Cruise In
A Cruise In will be held as part of the Greentown Glass Festival on Sat., June 14, taking place at the American Legion Post 317 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The entrance fee is $15, and dash plaques will be given to the first 60 to register. Yoga in the Park
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department welcomes back Yoga in the Park, featuring 11 free yoga sessions in three different public parks. The sessions are open to all skill levels and are totally free to the public. Classes will take place in Jackson Morrow Park at the shelter from 6-7 p.m. on Sat., June 14, July 12, Aug. 9, and Sept. 20. Highland Park will host classes at the Earthen Stage from 8-9 a.m. on Sat., June 21, July 19, and Aug. 2. Foster Park will feature yoga at the Performing Arts Pavilion from 8-9 a.m. on Sat., June 28, July 16, Aug. 23, and Sept. 6. KPRD does not supply mats or other equipment.
Creamed Corn Chug
The Literacy Coalition of Howard County will take center stage at the 2025 Floating Lantern and Foodie Feast-ival at Beaver Point Campground in Windfall on June 14 at 7 p.m. It will be the recipient of proceeds from a creamed corn chugging contest fundraiser. Participants will pay $25 to prove they are the fastest at consuming a 60 oz. pitcher of creamed corn. The fastest, cleanest chug will take the title. LEGOs at the Greentown Library
Throughout June, the Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will hold special programming each Monday from 2-3 p.m. On Mon., June 16, build, design, and create with LEGOs. Explore the exciting world of building and architecture, using your imagination to construct amazing structures with LEGOs, which must remain in the library.
Super Explorers Camp
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department will offer its Super Explorers and Junior Super Explorers camps this summer. The Junior Super Explorers Camp runs from June 16-20 for children ages 5-8. Super Explorers Camp for ages 9-11 takes place June 23-27. Registration is open now, and the cost is $30 per child. Visit the parks department office in Highland Park to register.
Cookies and Canvas
Join the Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., on the third Tuesday of each month from May to September for an evening of snacks and painting – Cookies and Canvas. The next session takes place Tue., June 17, from 6-8 p.m. Cost of the session is $10.
Lilly Scholarship Information Night
The Community Foundation Serving Howard, Clinton and Carroll Counties will hold a Lilly Scholarship Information Night on Tue., June 17. This session, designed for seniors in the Class of 2026, will take place in Hingst Hall on the Ivy Tech Community College campus in Kokomo, 1815 E. Morgan St. Receive an overview of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship and learn about eligibility and application requirements. Also learn tips for submitting a strong application. Fired Arts at the Greentown Library
Unleash your creativity on Thu., June 19, as Fired Arts Studio, 111 W. Sycamore St., hosts the Greentown Public Library’s Adult Summer Reading Program. Juneteenth Summer Celebration
Join the Kokomo Housing Authority and Carver Community Center on Saturday, June 21, from 4-10 p.m. for a vibrant day filled with delicious food vendors, unique merchandise booths, exciting kids’ activities, quarter Bingo fun, and live entertainment. The event will take place around the courthouse square in downtown Kokomo. As part of the event, "The Best of Kokomo" Food Contest will take place. Kids Safety Day
Bring the whole family to Foster Park on Sun., June 22, to experience Kids Safety Day. Organized by Kokomo Firefighters Local 396, this event will run from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., featuring a raffle for a boys’ and girls’ bicycle, free bicycle helmets while supplies last, face painting, and more. Explore emergency vehicles. Experience the Kokomo Fire Department’s Smoke House. And take the Junior Firefighter Challenge. This event takes place through a partnership with Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital, Ascension St. Vincent, StatFlight, Indiana Heartland Federal Credit Union, and the City of Kokomo.

Throughout June, the Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will hold special programming each Monday from 2-3 p.m. On Mon., June 23, discover the art of Sharpie creations. Learn to use Sharpie markers and alcohol to design unique, one-of-a-kind accessories.
Teacup Bird Feeder

Family Night at Kokomo Beach
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department will hold a special Family Night at Kokomo Beach on Thu., June 26. From 6-8 p.m., swimmers and sunbathers can get into the water for just $3. This event is open to the public.
Summer Cafeteria Service
Lewis Cass Schools will offer free summer cafeteria service for students ages 18 and under until June 27. The meals will be offered at Lewis Cass Elementary, 6540 E, SR 218, in Walton. Enter through Door 1. Breakfast will be served from 9-10 a.m., and lunch follows from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Lupus Awareness Ride
Milwaukee Iron Motorcycle Club will hold a Lupus Awareness Ride and Show on Sat., June 28, at its headquarters, 111 E. Monroe St. Gates open at noon, and kickstands go up at 1 p.m. After the ride, there will be a bike show, food, live music by Live/Wire, raffles, and more. Cost is $10 per person. All proceeds will be donated to local resident Myia Downhour, who currently struggles with medical bills related to treating the disease.
Family Movie Night
Join the Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department on Sat., June 28, for a special Family Movie Night in Foster Park. Gather around the Arts Pavilion for a screening of the original “How to Train Your Dragon,” beginning at 9:30 p.m. This movie night is free and open to the public.
Tie-Dye at the Greentown Library
Throughout June, the Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will hold special programming each Monday from 2-3 p.m. On Mon., June 30, explore the art of fabric painting. Get creative and design your own canvas tote bag in the fun, hands-on workshop. The library will provide the tie-dye fabric markers and more: everything you need to make a unique masterpiece.
Greentown Library Book Sale
Join the Greentown Public Library from June 30-July 13 for its annual book sale. Find great deals in the Library Community Room during normal operating hours as well as at the Howard County 4H Fair. All items will be 50 cents, with the proceeds benefiting library programs. Donations are being accepted at the library, 421 S. Harrison St.
Haynes-Apperson 5K
Registration for the Haynes-Apperson 5K is open now! On Sat., July 5, runners and walkers will travel the scenic course through downtown Kokomo and Foster Park along the Walk of Excellence Trail. Super Explorers Camps
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department is expanding its Super Explorers Camp this year, offering two sessions of both Junior and Senior Super Explorers Camps. Registration for the second camps sessions is open now. Junior Super Explorers for children ages 5-8 will be July 7-11, and Senior Super Explorers for children ages 9-11 takes place July 14-18. The camps will run from 9 a.m. until noon each day. To register, visit the KPRD office in Highland Park.
Solidarity Members Beach Party
Solidarity Community Federal Credit Union will hold a members-only Beach Party on Mon., July 14, at the Kokomo Beach Family Aquatic Center, 802 W. Park Ave., starting at 7 p.m. Solidarity members receive free admission with their membership card or Solidarity debit card. They also receive a free cup of ice cream. No reservations are necessary.
Kokomo’s Funniest Comedian
Calling all comedians! Rhine Hall Entertainment and Event Venue will hold its second annual Kokomo’s Funniest Comedian competition every Friday evening in September, with a grand finale taking place Oct. 3. Registration is open now for comedians seeking to compete. Registration deadline is July 28. Submit your three-minute performance video to rhinehall.gary@gmail.com. Each week, a panel of judges will select a winner from a round of competition who will advance to the finals. Those in attendance also have a chance to advance a comedian through people’s choice voting. The winning comedian will receive a $500 cash prize, a trophy, and paying gigs at an upcoming Rhine Hall comedy showcase and as the host of the 2026 competition.
Solidarity Scholarship Golf Outing
The third annual Solidarity Scholarship Golf Outing will take place Sat., Aug. 9, from 8 a.m. until noon at Wildcat Creek Golf Course, 3200 Timber Valley Dr. Entry is $500 per team. Jammin’ 4 the Camp
Join Professional Firefighters of Kokomo Local 396 on Sat., Aug. 9, for Jammin’ 4 the Camp, a Jeep Jam to benefit the Hoosier Burn Camp. From 5-10 p.m. in Foster Park, Jeep owners and their families will take part in a fun day in the park, and the public is welcome to attend. Music will be provided by Mast American Guitar and Ike ‘n’ Rory & the Rhythm Riders. There will be local food trucks, a beer tent, and a 50/50 raffle.

Join the Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., on Thu., Aug. 21, from 7:30-8 a.m. for Breakfast and Books. Start your day right with a morning meal and some engaging reading.
Tailgate at the Library
Join the Greentown Public Library on Fri., Aug. 22, for a tailgate party to celebrate the return of football to Eastern High School. Grab a free hot dog and chips at the library’s table, which will be located at the west end of the football field.
The Senior Games
The Area Five Agency on Aging and Community Services is planning to offer the Senior Games, a celebration of the strength, spirit, and community of senior citizens. The Senior Games will be held throughout September across the Area Five region. In Kokomo, the Senior Games will take place Wed., Sept. 17. Area Five is currently seeking donations from the community to help make this event a success.
