County tackles flooding issues
Windwood Park could see relief soon, but the cost will be high; public hearing July 18

It has been that way ever since the sub-division was built, but the Howard County Drainage Board is hoping to finally bring a little relief. On June 7, it considered a plan to mitigate a portion of the flooding by adjusting the Marion Monroe Watershed, but the price tag is high.
According to Howard County Surveyor Dave Duncan, the reconstruction plan involves the replacement of more than half of the existing 8,882 feet of drainage tile and the installation of a Water and Sediment Control Basin, of WASCoB.
The cost? More than $1 million.
