Dave Dugan and Dave "The King" Wilson will come to town and light up The Hobson's downtown venue with their stand-up comedy routines tomorrow night, and a few tickets are still available.
As of Thursday afternoon, Jan. 18, tickets were still available for "Comedy Night at the Hobson, A Double Dose of Daves" at 7 p.m. on Sat., Jan. 20. To purchase tickets, visit https://the-hobson.square.site or buy them at the door. The Hobson is located at 110. N. Washington St.
Dugan and Wilson both were featured on Q-95's Bob & Tom show, a station where Dugan had his own afternoon drive-time program along with a stint at the company's sister station X-103.
Built and honed as an announcer and entertainer in the central Indiana radio stations of the1980's, Dugan, a Butler and Ball State University graduate, enjoyed his time in radio and says it helped him get ready for an over four-decade career in comedy.
"For me, radio was not a very serious business," said Dugan. "It was the most fun, actually, and the transition from it to stand-up was easier because I had already been writing comedy for the radio shows I hosted."
Dugan also voiced many radio and television commercials throughout the years and now makes his bread and butter doing corporate shows for large organizations and companies.
He is glad to be sharing the stage with his old comedy pal, Wilson, and recently has been touring the state with the "Cabin Fever Comedy Tour." During that tour, he has worked with Kokomo native and comedy newcomer, Luke McKinney.
"Since I'm the only comedian for the corporate and private shows I do, it is always nice to have another comic or two in the lineup," said Dugan. "I've worked with (Wilson) more than any other comedian over the years, and he is one of the best. Luke is quite a bit younger than us and is already a very good comedian with a bright future."
