Scott Fields was a two-sport star for the Lewis Cass Kings in the 1980s. He was a four-year starter at quarterback for the school, but it was basketball that was closest to his heart.
He graduated high school with an offer to shoot hoops at the collegiate level, but a bizarre development with his health eradicated any hope of following that dream. So, Fields turned to coaching. It was a decision that reshaped his life.
Fields found success in coaching basketball in the U.S. and overseas. And in semi-retirement he has created an online media presence with the Coach Scott Fields Show podcast which has grown remarkably over the past few years. And now the Indiana Sports Hall of Fame will recognize his career accomplishments by inducting him in the 2023 class.
Fields took time out of his schedule recently to talk with the Kokomo Lantern, sharing his memories of playing sports locally and coaching around the globe. And of course, he talked basketball.
Please enjoy the Kokomo Lantern’s first podcast featuring the newest local sports legend, Scott Fields.
