Haynes-Apperson Festival 2023: The Parade

The Haynes-Apperson Festival Parade is a tradition that has been a part of the annual event since its inception. What started as a caravan of cars, trucks, and other motorized vehicles through downtown Kokomo has evolved into a procession of community businesses, non-profits, churches, and politicians, showing off their civic pride.

The parade took place on July 1, wending its way north along Market Street, west on Jefferson Street, and then south on Main Street to the Courthouse Square. Some of the float riders threw candy and souvenirs to the crowd. The Kokomo High School Marching Band, the Kokomo Park Band, and Kokomo Civic Theatre all put on musical displays.
