Haynes-Apperson Festival 2023: The Fun

There was no shortage of entertainment at the Haynes-Apperson Festival this year, despite the threatening weather. While several of the annual Sports Festival events were either rained out or relocated, there was still plenty to do and see.

The Midway rides and fair food drew in crowds as did the music on all three nights, June 29-July 1. Thursday’s concert featured Here Come the Mummies — a Haynes-Apperson Festival staple. Friday saw former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley take the stage, and the Saturday concert brought Starship with Mickey Thomas.

The festival closed with a fireworks extravaganza that made into the air just before the rain came.
