Hearing on solar farm this week
BZA will meet at Central Middle School July 26 to discuss 1,875-acre development
The Howard County Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing on July 26 to discuss and receive input from residents about a proposed solar farm in eastern part of the county.
The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the Central Middle School auditorium, 303 E. Superior St. The developer, Emerald Green Solar, LLC., is requesting a Special Exception Permit in order to construct a solar arrays in an agricultural zone. Measuring at approximately 1,875 acres, the proposed solar farm would encompass land bounded by Ind. 35 to the north, county road 1300 East to the east, county road 250 South to the south, and county road 1100 East to the west.
New businesses ahead
The Kokomo Plan Commission recently approved the development of two new businesses. Elite Home Therapy received plat plan approval earlier this month to build a new Elite Therapy location on the southeast corner of Reynolds Drive and Lafountain Street.
