When people think about Beatles tribute bands, they think of mop-top wigs, strained Liverpool accents, and of course, classic music. But the Kokomo Community Concerts series ends its 2023-2024 season with a twist on a storied theme.
Kokomo welcomes “Here Comes the Sun,” a group of five instrumentalists/vocalists with a love of The Beatles, an authentic sound, and none of the costumes and spectacle that signifies a typical tribute band. The group will play on Mother’s Day, Sun., May 12, at 2:30 p.m. in the Kokomo High School Auditorium, 2501 S. Berkley Road.
“Here Comes the Sun” features performers with some significant resumes. They’ve performed on Broadway. They’ve played in the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. And now they focus on bringing “a fresh, vibrant, and musically authentic act” that will have the audience on their feet and dancing.
Tickets are still available for this performance at a cost of $25. They may be purchased at the door on the day of the concert, or by visiting www.kokomocommunityconcerts.org. Children are admitted free. For additional information, call 765-210-0686.
