Ivy Hills drainage project nearly complete
State Road 26 will be closed for up to two weeks as culvert is installed
Residents of the Ivy Hills sub-division on the city’s south end have suffered through more than a year of construction and road repair, but it’s all about to come to an end.
Deputy Surveyor Greg Lake reported to the Howard County Drainage Board last week that the drainage project for the sub-division is awaiting completion of its final step, which began on May 19.
“We have the last part of the project from INDOT,” said Lake. “They are installing a road box culvert from south to north across State Road 26. During that, they are supposed to install the last piece of our regulated drain at the proper elevation. Once that is complete, we are done with the project.”
Lake estimated that it would take INDOT about two weeks to complete the culvert and drain installation. But that won’t be the true end of the project, he conceded.
