Kiwanis Club honors cager girls
Rassel, Layden, McClain, Elliot, Langley recognized for basketball achievements
The Kiwanis Club of Kokomo held its 39th annual Howard County Girls’ Basketball Recognitions in February and March. Due to COVID restrictions, the recognition was held at each high school with an appetizer and cupcake party.

Audrey Rassel, of Western High School, earned the highest senior GPA and was awarded a $500 scholarship by the Kiwanis Club of Kokomo Foundation.
Northwestern’s McKenna Layden and Kokomo’s Chloe McClain were named the Most Valuable Players in Howard County.
Layden had the highest points per game (22), most assists per game (4), most steals per game (4.5), and the best free throw percentage (78.9%).
Aijia Elliot, of Kokomo High School, had the most rebounds per game (7.8).
Western High School had the best team grade point average at 4.294 on a four-point scale.
Chloe McClain of Kokomo, McKenna Layden of Northwestern, and Kelsi Langley of Taylor earned awards for scoring more than 1,000 points in their high school careers.
