“What is my purpose?” This is the question that Communications and Business Trainer Kalena James asked herself as she was growing up. A Cleveland, OH native, James struggled against physical abuse and lack of encouragement in her youth, but underneath she kept telling herself, “I am somebody.”
Now James, an in-demand inspirational speaker and business coach for many years, is spreading that mantra to everyone she comes in contact with.
“I made the decision to turn pain into power,” said James.
That led James to start LCR Coaching, a business leadership coaching company that helps to empower and inspire businesses and individuals. As James’ business started to gain traction. she grew frustrated with digital tools that were on the market to help support her clients.
“Trying to manage 8-10 digital tools daily was physically draining and time-consuming, not to mention during the pandemic,” said James.
With the help of the Small Business Administration, James decided to build her own digital tool that would be easier to use and better for her business. She worked with app developers Greg Bernhardt and Matt Taylor to introduce LyfQuest, a mobile CRM software tool for coaches, counselors, and therapists that was developed by professionals desiring an all-in-one digital tool to maintain a private relationship with their clients.
“There was not one platform for small businesses like myself to do all those services,” James noted. “There is now.”
LyfQuest is made up of a diverse group of talented individuals with a wide range of backgrounds and is majority-owned by minorities and women.
The LyfQuest team keeping the app functioning includes James as CEO, Vaughn James COO, and Dr. Kimberly Morris-Ph.D. as CSO in charge of team, safety, and security policies. Tanya Foutch, CNO, develops communication and training. Julie Deem is the podcast editor and content creator for marketing. Sarah and Lucas Pitzer of Alphasloth LLC, are CCBOs in charge of marketing to small businesses.
