Fady Qaddoura is a Palestinian American who became a homeless immigrant in 2005 following Hurricane Katrina. In 2020, he became Indiana’s first Arab Muslim lawmaker, when he won election to the State Senate.

On March 12, Qaddoura, who is also a college professor with doctorate degrees in philosophy and public policy from IUPUI, was persuasively preaching and teaching about the politics of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to 34 of his fellow Democrats. The District 30 Indiana Senator was in Kokomo for a meeting extoling the American Rescue Plan and The Jobs Act.
