Mr. Kingston’s Car Show today
Historical Society celebrates automotive heritage with antique cars, Pinewood Derby
The Seiberling Mansion looks more like an old-time traffic jam. That’s intentional. The Howard County Historical Society is celebrating Kokomo’s automotive heritage with “Mr. Kingston’s Car Show,” a two-day event featuring antique cars, and a Pinewood Derby race.
The event began on June 10 and continues today, June 11, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Visitors will be able to lay their eyes on some of the earliest examples of the automobile, including a few Haynes models made in the City of Firsts. The Boy Scouts of America are holding the Pinewood Derby on the front porch of the Seiberling Mansion, and visitors may participate after obtaining a “license” at various booths across the event.
The Seiberling Mansion Howard County Museum is open for general admission during the event. Tickets for the museum are $10 for adults and $5 for students in K-12. Children under 5 are admitted free. The car show is free for all who attend.
