Alexis Leanne Donato
Alexis Leanne Donato, 24, Kokomo, passed away on Thursday March 30, 2023, at Community North Hospital. She was born in Lorain, OH. on August 17, 1998, the daughter of Albert and Jennifer (Meade) Donato.
Alexis graduated in 2016. She had worked for various companies including Menards, Kroger, and K Mart. She loved animals, bugs, and horseback riding. She was an avid reader, who enjoyed movies, 30’s music, and exploring nature. She loved taking road trips, with her favorite being to Cedar Point for her 21st birthday. She also loved the holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween. Alexis will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Alexis is survived by her parents, Al and Jennifer; sister, Alison Donato (Javen Barela); boyfriend, Tyler Bird; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; 2 birds, Salem and Odi; snake, Misha; and puppy, Willow.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; 2 birds, Lord & Lady; and 2 dogs, Scratch & Sniff.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 3, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo. Friends may visit with the family from 2 pm to 5 pm on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at the funeral home, and again on Monday from 9 am to 11 am. Frank “Frankie” Edward Guffey II
Frank “Frankie” Edward Guffey II, 38, of Kokomo, passed away Sunday March 26, 2023. He was born in Kokomo, IN, on May 22, 1984, the son of Frank Edward Guffey Sr. and Edna (Miller) McCoy. He married Tara Williams on August 8, 2012, and she survives.
Frankie graduated from a home school program. He was formerly employed at Gibraltar as a laborer who helped construct marble and stone mausoleums. Frankie had the best sense of humor and used that to help others laugh and smile. He would do anything for a friend and made friends that stuck with him for life. His wife and his kids were his whole world.
Frankie is survived by his wife, Tara Guffey; dad, Frank Edward Guffey Sr.; mom, Edna McCoy; children, Frank Edward Guffey III, John Edward Thomas Guffey; sisters, Jennifer Michelle, Tabitha Nicole; mother and father-in-law, Tito and Katherine Garcia; best friends, Cher and Carrie; cousins he claimed as his brothers, Brian and Earl; second father, Jim Head; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frank and Florence “Flo” Guffey; maternal grandparents, Michael Lee and Thelma Regina Name; brothers, Dustin Williams, Michael Kasten; adopted grandparents, Ed and Marilynn Miller; aunt, Bobbie Miller; cousin, Roxanna Fouch; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2 pm to 4 pm Monday April 3, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road. Kathryn Rose Gragg Schafer
Kathryn Rose Gragg Schafer, 38, Bradenton, FL., passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Blake Hospital in FL. She was born in Kokomo on August 14, 1984 to Stephen J. and Martha J. (Porter) Gragg. On August 5, 2016, on a beach in Florida, she married Michael David Schafer, and he survives.
Kathryn graduated from Taylor High School in 2003 and attended Ivy Tech. She received her cosmetology degree from Rudae’s Beauty School. She was a hairdresser and manager at Supercuts in Bradenton Florida. She loved music, doing hair in vibrant colors and her dogs. She loved her life, family, friends and will be missed greatly.
Along with her husband, Kathryn is survived by her parents, Stephen and Martha; siblings, Nicholas (Steph) Gragg, and Stevie Lee; niece, Liberty Gragg; special cousins, Patty, Heather, Candice, and Jessica; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her niece, Savannah Gragg; uncle, Brian Gragg; and her grandparents.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo. Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral help to help assist the family with final expenses.
