Roger Kent Slusher
Roger Kent Slusher, age 75, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023. He was born the only child to the late Albert and Helen (McKay) Slusher on November 11, 1947 in Kokomo, In. He always loved that he was born on Veteran's Day.
Roger graduated from Kokomo High School. After high school, he served his country and was in the United States Army. Roger was stationed in South Korea and was honorably discharged on January 1, 1973. He was a proud member of the Greentown American Legion.
Roger retired from the United States Postal Service after over 30 years of service. If you were lucky to know Roger, and be loved and cared for by him, you would probably know that his route continued. And you might have caught a glimpse of him driving by your house to make sure everything looked safe. A mailman's heart is true to the very end.
Roger is survived by the two loves of his life, Sun "Susie" I. Slusher and Melissa Adcock; son-in-law, Justin Adcock; and many extended relatives.
Roger enjoyed traveling, watching sports, hanging with his friends at the Legion, meeting up with his high school buddies at Martino's, and catching up with old friends. But above all these things, he loved spending time with Susie the most (playing cards, driving her around, taking her out to dinner).
There will be a visitation for Roger on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 11:00 until the time of the memorial service at 1 pm at Ellers Mortuary Webster Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo, IN. Burial will follow to Galveston Cemetery with full military rites performed by the United States Army and the Greentown American Legion. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ellersmortuarywebster.com for the Slusher family.
