Debra Ann Frye
Debra Ann Frye, 87, Kokomo, passed away at 4:31 am Monday, April 3, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. She was born June 3, 1935 in Kokomo, the daughter of the late Ernest and Hazel (Watkins) McCauley. On April 9, 1955, she married Roland F. Frye, who preceded her in death on March 26, 2004.
Debra was a 1953 graduate of Kokomo High School. She retired from General Motors after several years of service. Debra was a member of Parr Methodist Church, and Nanny’s Craft Garden, that she did alongside her sister, Dorothy. Debra’s children and grandchildren were her life.
Debra is survived by her daughters, Susan Castner, and Beth (Grenvell) Foraker; son, David Frye; grandchildren, Erin Richardson, Kristin Frye, Mike (Sarah) Frye, David (Racheal) Cook, and Andrew (Allie) Cook; great-grandchildren, Jonathon Frye, Katelynn Frye, Parker Richardson, Lorene Pearson, Savannah Pearson, Jaden Pearson, Skyler Frye, and Archie Cook; sister, Dorothy Catt; sister-in-law, Carlis McCauley, and Diana McCauley; along with several nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Roland, Debra was preceded in death by her parents; 2 grandchildren, Meghan and Deidre Cook; siblings, Marjorie (Clarence) Crockett, Bill (Mary) McCauley, Lola (Frenchie) Aucoin, Jim McCauley, and Dick McCauley; brother-in-law, Dave Catt; and son-in-law, Andy Castner.
A funeral service will be held at 12 pm Friday, April 7, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., with Pastor Jason Grant officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10 am Friday until the start of the service at the funeral home. William L. Hughes
William L. Hughes passed away peacefully, at 90 years of age, on Sunday, April 2, 2023.
Bill was born in Kokomo, IN and was a lifelong resident. He was predeceased in death by his loving parents, Cecil and Zola Hughes, his brother Bob Hughes, and his niece Debbie Conwell.
He is survived by his beloved sister, Barbara Hughes Brown, brother-in-law, Edward Brown, nephews Ed Brown and Gary Carter, nieces Kelly Brown Duncan and Katie Brown Mallard, two great nephews and several great nieces.
Bill retired from the State of Indiana Civil Service System. He had many hobbies including politics, reading, fishing, and playing golf.
A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Thursday, April 6 at 11:30 a.m.
