Jeffery “Jeff” Lee Briles
Jeffery “Jeff” Lee Briles, 66, Greentown, passed away at 4:00 a.m. Wednesday August 2, 2023, at Century Villa in Greentown. He was born March 22, 1957, in Marion to Martha Maxine (Stackhouse) Briles.
Jeffery proudly served his country in the United States Airforce for 4 years. He lived in Montana for 15 years, worked for Weaver Pop Corn, and farmed for many years before retiring to Greentown, IN. He also enjoyed sports of which fishing, and golf were his favorites. Most of all he cherished time spent with his family.
He is survived by his children Jeromy Briles, Jody (Ember) Briles, and Tiffany (Tim) Hitchcock; grandchildren, Tamara Berg, Isaac Briles, Emery Briles, Kenna Briles, Tinsley Hitchcock, and Tanner Hitchcock; great-granddaughter, Shyla Briles; siblings, Jim (Donna) Briles, Cindy (Dave) Smith, and John (Reggie) Briles; brother-in-law, Denny Stroup; sister-in-law, Jill Briles; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family including his ex-wife; Teresa (Bob) Cauble.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Marjorie Stroup, and niece, Christina “Chrissy” Briles.
The family will be having an intimate graveside service on August 7, 2023, where Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force and the Greentown American Legion Post 317. Phillip Jay Williams
Phillip Jay Williams, 59, of Russiaville, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023, in his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born on August 24, 1963, in South Bend, Indiana, to Herman “Red” Williams and Judith (Mould) Toles. On August 19, 1995, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, he married Kelly Mahaney, and she survives.
He was a graduate of South Bend Riley High School and earned an HVAC certificate from Ivy Tech Community College. Phil retired from General Motors in 2023. Prior to working at GM, he was the manager at Aldi. He was a fan of Cubs baseball, Notre Dame football and the Indy 500. He enjoyed attending these with family and friends. He loved being on the lake, fishing, kayaking, spending time with his family and traveling. He also enjoyed volunteering for the Jim “Moose” Carden Kids Fishing Clinic. His family and friends loved him and will miss him greatly.
Surviving is his wife, Kelly Williams of Russiaville; three children, Brook Harshman of Kokomo, Blake Williams of Kokomo, and Alyson (Tyler) Yoars of Arcadia; mother, Judith Toles; mother-in-law, Kathleen McBee (Steven Cormier), father-in-law, Kenneth Mahaney and stepmother, Marie Williams; siblings, Tom (Nila) Crowe, Ed (Marilyn) Williams, Cheryl (Rob) Mitchell, Donna (Gary) Mitschelen, Kevin (Amy) Williams, Todd (Tammy) Williams, and Teri (Tim) Moore. brother-in-law, Ryan (Sarah) McBee; and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
Preceding him in death were his father, Herman “Red” Williams of South Bend, and brothers, Bob Williams and Larry Williams.
A celebration of life will be held on August 18, 2023, from 5 pm-9 pm at the Columbian Club of Kokomo, 1631 Foxfire Ln, Kokomo, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Jim “Moose” Carden Kids Fishing Clinic by mail at 12825 W. 100 N., Kokomo, IN 46901.
