Glenn Herbert Goodrich
Glenn Herbert Goodrich, 93, of Albany, KY, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023, in Monterey, TN. He was born January 25, 1930, in Mildred, Missouri, the son of the late Henry and Bessie (Dyer) Goodrich. On September 9, 1955, he married Janice Joan (Barkley) Goodrich in Kokomo, who preceded him in death on November 10, 2020.
Glenn retired from Continental Steel after 35 years of service. He was a part-time pastor after retirement. Glenn was a people person who enjoyed talking with others and reading God’s word.
Glenn is survived by his daughters, Gail (Thomas) Maulding, Monterey, TN, and Glenda Parks, Albany, KY; sons, Ronald Goodrich, Albany, KY, and Samuel (Russell Iadevaia) Goodrich, Los Angeles, CA; 5 grandchildren; along with 2 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Janice, Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; 1 grandchild; and 6 siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am Friday, December 22, 2023, at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main Street, Greentown, with Pastor Micah Mouser officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery in Windfall. Friends may visit with the family from 10 am Friday until the start of the service at the funeral home. John Bizjak, age 77, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.
A time of visitation for John will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902. A funeral service will occur Friday, December 29, 2023, at 1:00 PM, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902. A burial with military rites will occur Friday, December 29, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902.
John will be laid to rest in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, IN 46902-4839.
Gloria Joan Childs
Gloria Joan Childs, 73, of Macy, passed away Monday, December 18, 2023, at Waterford Health Campus in Kokomo. She was born on June 3, 1950, to Irving Hartley and Rosalie (Hoppel) McReynolds. She married Myron “Bo” Childs, and he preceded in death on January 24, 2023.
Gloria was a 1968 graduate from Franklin High School. She worked in maintenance at PPG for 10 years. She loved gardening, watching the birds at the birdbath, and loved her dogs. Gloria loved to watch The Waltons, The Andy Griffith Show, and The Golden Girls. She and Bo threw the biggest Halloween parties throughout Howard and Miami County; they were also active members of ABATE Region 3. Gloria loved Christmas and spending it with her family; she always tried to have the biggest Christmas tree. Gloria loved being a grandma and was an amazing one, to all her grandchildren.
Gloria is survived by her son, Joseph Childs; son-in-law, Jeffery Hodson; husband’s children, Larry and Mark Childs, and Angela Nichols; grandchildren, Alishia Moore, Jeffery (Summer) Hodson, Lil’ Bo Martin, Sarah Martin, Austin Hodson, Alisa (Devon) Atherton, Katie Erickson, and Jessica Erickson; 16 great-grandchildren; 1-great-great grandson; the Milligan Family, John and Susie Kuntz, and many other beloved friends.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bo; daughter, Teresa Marner; and brother, Kenneth Hartley.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Shirley and Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Gloria’s grandson, Lil’ Bo, officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12 pm until the time of the service, on Saturday, at the funeral home.
