Donald Max Connaway
Donald Max Connaway, 88, Camden, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at his home. He was born November 5, 1934, to the late Roy and Eunice (Pettiner) Connaway. On December 9, 2007, he married Betty Jo Harris, and she survives.
In 1953, Donald graduated from Burlington High School. He served his country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959, achieving the rank of Special Third Class. Donald went on to work at Chrysler for 37 years, before retiring in 1999. He was a member of the UAW 685 and Deer Creek Presbyterian Church. Donald loved fishing and watching sports.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Betty; children, Jo Anne (Bob) Skelton, Janet Fowler-Meadows, and John Connaway; step-children, Michele (Dan) Bott, Michael (Amy) Cottrell, Luann (Leon) Organ, and Pam (Mark) Dishon; as well as, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 sisters, 2 brothers, and first wife, Linda Sue Bowen.
A funeral service will take place at 2 pm on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 44 Michigan St., Burlington, IN 46915, with Pastor Gayle Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. Military Rites will be provided by the United States Army and Kokomo V.F.W. Military Rites Team. Friends may visit with the family from 12 pm to 2 pm Saturday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Deer Creek Presbyterian Church or the charity of people’s choice. Roy David Allen
Roy David Allen, 63, Kokomo, passed away at 1:30 pm Monday, February 6, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. He was born February 15, 1959, in Kokomo, the son of Richard H. & Marcelline L. (Robertson) Allen.
Roy was a 1977 graduate of Haworth High School and a graduate of Vincennes University. He worked for Lee Construction in Kokomo and for Cable Concepts in Carmel. He was a perfectionist who loved working outside and gardening, landscaping, mowing and trimming bushes. Roy also loved fishing in Northern Minnesota, Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He loved old cars and going to car shows. Roy was a caring person who looked after and helped his parents and brothers and enjoyed caring for the family cat, Sandy. He loved watching church programs on T.V.
Roy is survived by his parents, Richard and Marcelline Allen; siblings, Roger Allen, John (April) Allen and Amy Allen; and niece, Emily Allen.
Funeral service will be held at Noon on Tuesday February 14, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Joyce Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Little Deer Creek Cemetery in Onward. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10-12 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
