Lena “Bea” Beatrice Young
Lena “Bea” Beatrice Young, 99, Kokomo, passed away at 10:15 am, Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Wellbrooke of Kokomo. She was born June 23, 1923 in Kokomo, the daughter of the late Laurence and Esther (Harvey) Manring.
Bea was a 1941 graduate of West Middleton High School. In 1998, she retired from Kokomo School Corporation where she had worked as the attendance secretary at Kokomo High School for 25 years. She was a long-time member of First Congregational Church. All six of her children were Kokomo High School honor graduates, and all six earned bachelor’s degrees from Purdue University. She was a long-time Purdue Boilermakers fan, especially of the men’s basketball team.
Survivors include her children, Ron (Donna) Young, Brentwood, Tenn.; Mary Kay (Richard) Letsinger, Paige, Texas; Susan (Steve) Kraabel, Carmel; Jane (Tom) Richardson, Kokomo; Jeff (Kathy) Young, Russiaville; and Jennifer (Mark) Lyons, Kokomo; 20 grandchildren, Theresa (Harry) Drew, Lisa (Marc) Hawthorn, Christine (Simon) Buesnel, Brian (Jennifer) Young, Kathryn (Vinit Desai) Young, Melissa Thompson, Rich Letsinger, Tom (Cassie) Letsinger, Brian (Chloe) Loop, Benjamin (Carrie) Loop, Tim (Chris) Kraabel, Amy (Russ) Porter, Hans (Carey) Kraabel, Erik (Heather) Richardson, David Young, Kyle (Carly) Young, Jim (Rebekah) Boley, Clint Boley, Nathan (Amanda) Lyons and Adam Lyons; along with 34 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Bea was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Eugene Manring; sister-in-law, Jerolyn Manring; son, Steven Robert Young; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Young.
A funeral service will be held at 12 pm Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Jon Tice officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10 am until the start of the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Kathryn Ann (Trayers) Clark
Kathryn Ann (Trayers) Clark, 95, Kokomo, passed away at 1:36 am Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Waterford Place Health Campus in Kokomo. She was born August 27, 1927, in Kokomo, the daughter of the late William & Delores (Kulow) Trayers.
Kathryn was a 1946 graduate of Kokomo High School. She worked for Indiana Bell Telephone Company and St, Joseph Hospital in Medical Records. She also served as a volunteer for St. Vincent Hospital for 27 years. Kathryn was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was a Secular Franciscan since April of 2002.
Kathryn is survived by her children, Mark W. (Carrie) Clark, Mary L. (Michael) Magiera and Michael J. (Susan) Clark; grandchildren, Matthew W. (Jennifer) Clark, Sarah Anderson, Victoria (Ryan) McCann, Brittany (Ben) Gunter, Amy L. (Daniel) Wood and Elizabeth (John) Yi, along with 21 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Marie (David) Becker, Jim (Teresa) Trayers, Susan (Steve) Leitz, Diane (Todd) Masters and Bob (Keri) Trayers.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; siblings, Mary Louise (James) Commodore, Dolores (Louis) Kurtz and William J. (Martha) Trayers; and her former husband and the father of her children, S. Wayne Clark and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Waterford Place Health Campus for the care, compassion and love given to Kathryn and her family during her stay, especially Megan and Gentiva Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, February 2, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1229 N. Washington Street, Kokomo, with Rev. Fr. Eliott Zak the celebrant. Burial will follow in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11-1 pm Thursday at the church, where the Rosary will be offered at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kathryn’s memory to the Monastery of the Poor Clares or St. Patrick Catholic Church. Ellen Margaret Anderson
Ellen Margaret Anderson, 78, Kokomo, passed away at 12:53 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Century Villa. She was born in Batesville, IN. on July 20, 1944, to the late Walter and Margaret (Snider) McCarty. On November 21, 1965, in Brookville, IN., she married Tom Anderson, and he survives.
Ellen graduated from Brookville High School in 1962 and from Ball State University in 1965. She was a postgraduate of the Christian Theological Seminary and Butler University. She taught Special Education and first grade for Kokomo Center Schools. She was a wedding and program coordinator at First Christian Church, Kokomo, a voluntary action coordinator of the former United Way agency VICS, a beauty consultant for Mary Kay cosmetics, and account executive at WIOU and Z92.5, and the director of community relations and marketing at Howard Community Hospital. In 2006 she retired as the Associate Pastor at First Christian Church. Ellen was a member of the sisterhood of P.E.O. and Tri Kappa Sorority. She served on numerous boards including Samaritan Caregivers, Family Service Association, and Prevent Child Abuse. Ellen created a puppet ministry at First Christian Church and wrote a book of puppet scripts: “Not For Kids Only” published by Abingdon Press; and wrote a book inspired by a true love story: “Love Song in a Minor Key”. She also had numerous pieces of poetry published in national periodicals. Ellen was elected president of the Indiana Hospital Society of Public Relations and Marketing. She was an avid gardener and flower arranger. She grew, cut and arranged flowers throughout the growing season, providing a weekly grand bouquet for the sanctuary at her church. Ellen also enjoyed cooking, baking and offering the hospitality of her home to many friends and family. Her greatest joy was her husband, children, grandchildren and extended family. Good friends also became part of “her family”.
Ellen is survived by her husband, Tom; children, Tracy Leigh Anderson (Troy) Holaday of San Diego; and Brett Thomas (Gwendolyn Lievano) Anderson of Fort Lauderdale; and grandsons, Max Holaday, and Logan Holaday of San Diego.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, February 3, 2023, at First Christian Church, 854 County Road N. 300 W., Kokomo, with Rev. Dr. Al Adams officiating. James “Jim” Wendell Evans
James “Jim” Wendell Evans, 80, of Russiaville, passed away 4:30 pm Saturday January 28, 2023, at his home. He was born in Kokomo, IN, on August 8, 1942, the son of the late Roger William Evans and Julia Margaret (Hoover) Evans Welcher. On October 14, 1972, he married Caroll Todd at Rock Prairie Church, and she survives.
Jim was a 1961 graduate of Western High School. He retired from Chrysler after 39 years of service as a job setter, machine operator, and custodian. He was a family man who prioritized his relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loved watching Sci Fi, western shows, and action movies like Transformers, Indiana Jones, and John Wayne. He enjoyed being outdoors and doing yardwork. Jim was an avid reader and he adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife, Caroll Evans; children, Angela (Mike) Newton, Roger (Veronica) Evans, Jennifer (Steve) Pisula, and Taylor (Parker) Singleton; Godchildren, Josh Coleman, and Katie Painter; grandchildren, Breanna Newton, David Newton, Isabella Newton, Julia Newton, Kiara Evans, Rachel Pisula, Kalista Pisula, Cyrus Singleton; great-grandchildren, Maverick Newton, Maddox Newton; sister, Janice Beasley; and a large extended family who claimed him as uncle or grandpa Jim.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; stepdad, James Welcher; and brother-in-law, James Beasley.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 am to 1 pm Friday February 3, 2023, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street, Russiaville, IN 46979. Funeral service will begin 1 pm on Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor James Frakes officiating. Burial will follow in Russiaville Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jim’s memory to K-Love Radio Station. William Roger Powers Jr., age 69, of Peru, Indiana passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023.

William Alfred Browning Sr.
William Alfred Browning Sr., age 82, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. William was born in Kokomo, Indiana.
A public visitation for William will be held Monday, February 6, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
William will be laid to rest in Kokomo Memorial Park, 1300 East North Street, Kokomo, IN 46901-3190.

Angela Marie Harris
Angela Marie Harris, 66, Greentown, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at her home. She was born August 6, 1956 in Peru, the daughter of the late William and Rosemary (Smith) Raber. On February 29, 2012, she married David Harris in Kokomo, and he survives.
Angela was a 1975 graduate of Peru High School. She graduated with her Bachelor’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1995. She retired as a registered nurse after 28 years of service, spending 12 of those years at St. Joseph Hospital. Angela enjoyed working in the yard, crafts, and her 5 K-9 companions.
In addition to her husband David, Angela is survived by her sisters, Nancy (Danny) Peppers, Rebecca (Grant) Meeks, and Jamie (Mike) Dailey; brothers, Mike (Cathy) Raber, Ron (Cindy) Raber, and Bill (Samantha) Raber; along with several nieces and nephews.
Angela was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Ginger Raber.
A graveside service will be held at 10 am Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, 411 N Grant St, Peru, with Patsy Raber officiating. Gregory “Greg” Steven Warden
Gregory “Greg” Steven Warden, 61, of Kokomo, passed away 8:40 pm Friday January 27, 2023, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. He was born in Kokomo, IN, on March 19, 1961, the son of the late Lowell and Barbara (Wood) Warden.
Greg was a graduate of Western High School and was raised growing up in Russiaville. He was an amazing cook who worked at Bob Evans and Applebee’s. He was a dear father, son, brother, and uncle. Greg was a generous, good-hearted man, who loved to live in the moment. He was so proud of committing his life to the Lord. He adored his cats and dogs and was fond of animals in general. He loved the Chicago Cubs and went by the nickname “Barney” to those who knew him best.
He is survived by his son, Greg Warden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Barbara Warden; brother, Donald; and sister, Rhonda.

Patricia Ann Taylor-Ray
Patricia Ann Taylor-Ray, age 80, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 12:25 P.M. at her residence. She was born to the late Dorvall Dane and Opal (Shively) Hooker on January 7, 1943 in Kokomo. Patricia married Rex Taylor in Kokomo in 1965, and he preceded her in death on August 10, 2006.
Patricia was a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital for 27 years, mostly in in-home health care. She enjoyed fishing, camping, mushroom-hunting, planting flowers, and spending time outdoors. Patricia loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed macrame and home decorating.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Rex; infant brother, Michael Hooker; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn (Fred) Sheagley; and brother-in-law, Duane Copp.
She is survived by three children, Kimberly (Brian) Hendrix, Daina Taylor, and Glen (Lori Mooney) Taylor; five grandchildren, Nick Dobbs, Kayla Shelby, Christopher Taylor, Corey Taylor, and Brooklyn Sue-Ann Taylor; eight great-grandchildren, Austin Dobbs, Marah Taylor, Zachary Shelby, Kimberlynn Taylor, Kendall Dobbs, Lillian Taylor, Journey Taylor, and Mylah Taylor; sisters, Wanda Gruff and Beulah Copp; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service at Albright Cemetery at a later date.
James Robert Dockerty
James Robert Dockerty, 58, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on January 26, 2023. He was born on November 23,1964 in Kokomo, Indiana the son of Robert A. and Patricia E. Dockerty (Bennett). Jim was a 1983 graduate of Northwestern High School where he participated in marching band. He was an IU basketball fan, the Colts, the Bears, the Cubs, and Dale Earnhardt Sr, and he also enjoyed fishing with his buddies.. Jim worked at the family restaurant "Doc's" for 25 years as the chef before spending 10 years+ at Julianno's with his good friend Neil Miller. Feeding people was his true passion, he especially enjoyed working with his family at Doc's. Jim also did catering around the Kokomo area. Most of all he loved spending time with family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Jim is survived by his mother, Pat; siblings, Jill, Jeff, and Jon; son, Charles; daughter, Ashley; 4 grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Robert; grandparents, Robert and Evelyn Bennett, James and Emma Dockerty.
