Oscar Luvin Castorena Jr.
Oscar Luvin Castorena Jr., 39, Kokomo, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023. He was born in Carrizo Springs, TX. on March 16, 1983, to Oscar Luvin Sr. and San Juanita (Navarro) Castorena.
Oscar graduated from Tri Central High School in 2001, and received his Associates from Ivy Tech. An IBEW 873 Journeyman Electrician, who owned & operated Four Brother Enterprise and A.M.P.S. Electric. Oscar was a hardworking, family-oriented man, who enjoyed coaching wrestling. He was a leader who encouraged and inspired everyone he came into contact with. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Oscar is survived by his parents, children, Marcos Luvin Castorena, and Isabela Juanita Castorena; siblings, Asusena (Salvador) Castorena-Rivera, Nicholas (Julie) Castorena, Miguel (Jessica) Castorena, and Cristobal Castorena; nieces and nephews, Dominick Castorena, Gabriella Castorena, Alexander Castorena, Eriana Castorena, and Xavier Castorena; several aunts and uncles; and girlfriend, Elizabeth Fourez.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with father-in-law, Mark Engle officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2 pm to 6 pm on Saturday February 11, 2023, at the funeral home. Martha H. Wenning
Martha H. Wenning, 84, of Covington, TN, passed into eternal life at 10:20 pm Saturday, February 4, 2023, surrounded by her family at her daughter’s house in Greentown, IN. She was born July 16, 1938, in Indianapolis, IN. After losing both parents at an early age, she moved to Napoleon, IN. Her uncle, Fr. Cornelius Hall, and his housekeeper Marita Skill, cared for her. On September 27, 1958, in Greenwood, IN., she married Herbert Wenning from Millhousen, IN.
Martha was a 1956 graduate of Oldenburg Academy in Oldenburg, IN. She retired from World Color Press after 20 years of service. Martha was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and Friends of the Poor, in Covington, TN. She was very faithful to the Blessed Mother, praying her rosary every single day. She was a member of a local exercise club and card club. Martha was an avid I.U. basketball fan, University of Tennessee baseball fan, loved the USA Flag and what it stood for, enjoyed baking, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Martha is survived by her children, Donna (Jeff) Meyer, Bryan (Patricia) Wenning, Nita (Darrin Purcell) McLean, Anne (Aubrey) Delashmit, and Christine Martin; grandchildren, Christopher (Kate) Meyer, Amanda Clifford, Hayley (Mike) Tweed, Hannah (John) Parlon, Justin (Heidi) McLean, John (Taylor) Delashmit, Gunter (Heidi) Delashmit, Christian Delashmit, and Connor Martin; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Proceeding Martha in death were her husband, Herbert; her biological parents; uncle Fr. Cornelius Hall; Marita Skill; and sister Judy Mozzer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 pm Friday, February 10, 2023, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3155 County Rd S 200 W, Kokomo, with Fr. Elliott Zak as the celebrant. Friends may visit with the family from 12 pm until the start of Mass, and a rosary service taking place at 11:30 am, all on Friday at St. Joan of Arc. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow later at her home parish, St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Covington, TN with Fr. Rob Ballman and final resting place at Magnolia Gardens Cemetery in Covington, TN. Hasler-Stout Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church to go towards the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel in Martha’s memory or to St. Alphonsus in Covington, TN.
