Mark William Dye
Mark William Dye, 67, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away July 15, 2023. He was born on January 26, 1956, in Tipton, Ind., the son of Jesse and Jeanette (Somsel) Dye. On March 5, 1977, he married Jerryl Blackburn.
Mark retired from Western School Corporation in 2012 after 35 years. He enjoyed bowling, listening to music, and hanging out by the pool.
Surviving relatives include daughter, Aimee Huntsman (Mark) of Kokomo, IN; son, Jeremy Dye (Carrie) of Muncie, IN; two brothers, Jeff Dye (Janet) of Kokomo, IN; Stephen Dye (Julie) of Pennsylvania; grandson, Liam Huntsman of Kokomo, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson Mark Huntsman III.
A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Ellers Mortuary and Cremation Center 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo, IN 46902. A Memorial Gathering will be from 1:00 - 2:00 PM on Wednesday at the Funeral Home.

William “Bill” Fred Smith
William “Bill” Fred Smith, 96, of Kokomo, passed away 12:34 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023, at his daughter’s home. He was born in Duffield, Virginia, on July 9, 1926, the son of the late Thomas and Flora (Dezarn) Smith.
Bill graduated high school in Duffield, Virginia. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was stationed in the Asiatic Pacific Area and assisted with the Philippines Liberation until he was Honorably Discharged. After the military, he worked as a self-employed electrician and farmer. He enjoyed passing down his knowledge about farming and living the country life. Bill always stayed busy but made it a priority to spend time with his family and brag about his grandchildren and their recent accomplishments. Bill loved watching NASCAR races and had several drivers he rooted for. He enjoyed tending to his bountiful vegetable garden. He supported all programs that assisted veterans or the care of animals.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Yvonne (Mike) Thurmond, Robin (Kevin) Johnson, Missy (Kevin) Bohac, Cathy Hood, Debbie (Mike) Havens; grandchildren, Matt Smith, Autumn Smith, Jeremiah Hood, Jessica Johnson, Chastity Rance, Josh Bridge; great grandson, Evan Bridge; and many special friends that he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Flora Smith; sons, Roger Smith, William Smith.
In honor of Bill’s wishes, there are no public services scheduled. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill’s name to the National Wildlife Association or the Disabled American Veterans.
