Sherry Lynn Lewis
Sherry Lynn Lewis, 74, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023. She was born in Kokomo to the late Wallace Russell Jr. and Clearise Russell.
She was raised alongside her brother, Steven, and together they would get in trouble for eating the hearts of the yellow watermelon her family grew. Sherry graduated from Kokomo High School in 1967 and soon after began working at Delco Electronics. There she worked for 30 years before her retirement.
Sherry married Richard Lewis on May 28, 1988, she passed on their 35th wedding anniversary. Though Sherry only had two kids of her own, she practically raised the entire neighborhood. Whenever Sherry cooked dinner, she made enough to feed everyone. She was "mom" to many, including numerous spoiled cats and dogs.
Sherry loved to go shopping for antiques, so much so that she and Richard needed to purchase a second house for all of her decorations.
She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend, and Christian. She attended Radiant Life Ministry for many years.
Sherry is survived by her husband Richard "Rick" Lewis; son John Michael Wright; stepchildren Richard Craig (Jennifer) Lewis II and Shannon Michelle (Karl) Willis; brother Steven (Kathy) Russell; grandchildren Sherry Wright and Austin Shapiro; nephew Jamie (Lisa) Russell; nieces Kim (Jeff) Achors, Dustina (Chris) Lear, numerous cousins, friends and neighbors.
A celebration of life for Sherry will be held Sunday, June 11, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Radiant Life Ministry, 1602 E Gano St, Kokomo, IN.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sherry's memory may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, New York 10306 and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

William "Junior" C. Grant Jr.
William "Junior" C. Grant Jr., age 87, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo. He was born on January 15, 1936 to the late William C. Grant Sr. and Dorothy (Cheesman) Grant in Kokomo, Indiana.
Bill retired from Haynes International as an Electrician, at the age of 55. He was also a professional golfer. He was a long-time member of The American Legion. He served his country as a soldier in the United States Army during Korea and as a professional golfer at Fort Polk, Louisiana as he was detailed to instruct high ranking officers and their wives on the game. He did so in civilian clothing which was approved by his Colonel. He was also a former member of Southside Christian Church. Bill loved being a "Hoosier" and adored Howard County, Indiana. Bill was a true sportsman well into his mid-70s. He maintained a competitive love of Golf, enjoyed his faithful watching of Highland Park Little League to witness the many generations of players pass through the fields, and especially fancied attending country and "Big Band" music productions in Highland Park for many years. One of his most regularly scheduled outings was to his weekly socials with his buddies to McDonald's or Burger King on LaFountain where they were able to reminisce and also solve all of the world's problems together. His generosity was always felt by his family members, and especially by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are two children, Bonnie K. Cash and William Todd Grant; granddaughter, Jennifer (Bob) Sylvester; and four great-grandchildren, Levi, Jayden, Caitlin, and Gwenyth.
Preceded in death are four brothers, Wayne, James, Ronald, and David Grant; and grandson, Matthew Cash.
There will be a time of visitation for "Junior" on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, IN. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. also at the funeral home. Pastor Jeff Russell will be officiating. Burial will follow to Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in "Junior's" memory to The American Legion.
Darryl Keith Ryan
Darryl Keith Ryan, 60, Kokomo, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 14, 2023 at his daughter’s home. He was born July 18, 1962 in Kokomo to Franklin L. and JoAnn L. (Harmon) Ryan. On September 19, 1987 he married Joanna Fansler who preceded him in death on May 5, 2003. On June 17, 2010 he married Lora who preceded him in death on May 7, 2022.
A 1981 Haworth High School graduate, Darryl worked for the City of Kokomo for more than 25 years retiring as a maintenance man in 2017. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed open wheel racing, boating, playing darts, and tinkering in his pole barn. Darryl enjoyed spending time with his family and loved both of his cats.
He is survived by his mom, JoAnn Ryan; children, Alisha (Nick) Parrott, Nicole (Brent) Bowman, Brett Ryan, Daryl Marie (Tony Pasquale) Ryan, and Bennett (Courtney) Kerr; grandchildren, Corbin Parrott, Caiden Parrott, Elijah Burton, Braxton Bowman, and Paisley Bowman; as well as a brother, Ronald W. (Lauretta Mae) Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his father and wives, Joanna Ryan and Lora Ryan.
Services celebrating Darryl’s life will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2023 at West Middleton UMC, 480 W 230 S, Kokomo, with Pastor Kevin Marsh officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
