John Patrick “Pat” Taylor
John Patrick “Pat” Taylor, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, with his family by his side. Pat was born on March 22, 1959, to Ned & Florence (Sweeney) Taylor in Kokomo, Indiana. He married Kathy J. Reynolds on October 31, 2009, after 33 years together and she survives.
Pat graduated from Haworth High school in 1977. In Pat’s early years he worked for his aunt Patty and uncle Jack Earlywine at Earlywine Furniture Store in Kokomo, Indiana then went on to work for the City of Kokomo in 1989, retiring on May 19, 2023, after 30 dedicated years.
Pat loved sitting outside on the patio watching the birds with his wife, tending to the yard, going on trips, antiquing and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He would always talk about how proud he was of his family. Pat was a strong, faithful man in all his beliefs and never knew a stranger, even though he was strong headed & strong willed, he would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need.
Pat is survived by his wife, Kathy Reynolds; children Billy (Kristen) Taylor, Krissy (Jon) Silcox, and Ryan (Jennifer) Reynolds; grandchildren; Jon (Nicole) Jr. Silcox, Corey (Abby) Silcox, Kallie Silcox, Kolson Silcox, Morgan Taylor, Kenzie Taylor, and Macey Reynolds; great granddaughter on the way, Natalia; sisters, Sandy Summer, and Bridget (Tom) Maher; brother, Kevin (Marty) Taylor; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved pet Cassie.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; sisters, Cindy McCoy, Shelia Williams, and Debra King; brothers, Steve Taylor, Ned Taylor, and Mike Taylor; nephew Gary Price and his beloved pet, Mollie.
Funeral services celebrating Pat’s life will be held at 11 am Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Dustin Smith officiating. A burial will follow in Burlington Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-7 pm Monday at the funeral home.
