Randall “Randy” Kent Budd
Randall “Randy” Kent Budd, 60, of Kokomo, passed away 1:10 am Thursday March 16, 2023, at Waterford Place Health Campus in Kokomo. He was born in Kokomo, on February 20, 1963, the son of Donald Eugene and Mary Claranne (Ely) Budd. On June 21, 1991, he married Ellea Kay Benham at the Beamer United Methodist Church, and she survives.
Randy was a 1981 graduate of Kokomo High School. He graduated from Ball State University in 1987 where he majored in Photo Journalism. His schooling served him well in his career as a sports photographer for an independent local newspaper. He was an accomplished photographer and often took walks for the perfect snapshot or photograph site. Randy worked as a life skills clinician and case manager at Community Fairbanks Behavioral Health Howard in downtown Kokomo. When his health declined, he turned his artistic ability to producing numerous graphite drawings. His favorite vacations were spent with family and friends in South Haven, MI, for the past 20 years. He was a current member of First Church of the Nazarene in Kokomo.
In addition to his wife Ellea, Randy is survived by his son, Elliott Benjamin Budd; brother, Jeffrey Budd; father, Donald Budd; father-in-law, Garry Benham; mother-in-law, Joan Ratcliff Benham; aunts and uncles, Jan Benham, Charlie and Bev Ratcliff, AP and Judy Ratcliff, John and Barb Ratcliff, Katie Ratcliff.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Claranne (Ely) Ratcliff.
Private graveside services will be held at Russiaville Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from Noon to 2 pm Friday March 24, 2023, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street, Russiaville IN 46979. Memorial service will begin at 2 pm on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Randy’s memory to the Kokomo Humane Society or Community Howard Regional Health Foundation Behavioral Health Fund. Doris Jean Temme
Doris Jean Temme, 77, Kokomo, received her reward in Heaven on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Wellbrooke of Kokomo. She was born on February 11, 1946, in Evansville, IN. On June 29, 1968, she married Alvin Charles Temme, and preceded her in death on January 21, 2012.
Doris graduated from Fort Meyers Sr. High School in 1964. She was a medical assistant, who had worked for several Doctors over the years, including, Dr. Kathleen Beck-Koon, Dr. Kracke, and Dr. Chambers. She also worked at the ASM Hospital in Anderson, IN. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. Doris enjoyed shopping, crafting and she loved knitting and crocheting. She was always happy to share with her friends about her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she dearly loved.
Doris is survived by two sons, Michael (Haidee) Temme, and Mathew (Rachele) Temme; grandchildren, Zachary Temme, Russell (Dakota) Temme, Alexandra Temme, Kelsey Temme, Katelyn Temme, Kristen Temme; great grandson, Hudson Temme; sisters, Wanda (David) Weber and Rita Fuller.
She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Adrian & Billie Jo Smith; and her husband, Alvin Charles Temme.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Wayne Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 pm to 7 pm on Monday, March 20, 2023, at the funeral home. Barbara Jean Bretz
Barbara Jean Bretz, 69, Kokomo, passed away at 4:01 pm Sunday, March 12, 2023. She was born May 1, 1953, in Seth, WV, to the late Mr. John Edward and Pauline (Byus) Dunlap. On April 30, 1988, she married the love of her life, Ross D. Bretz.
Barbara graduated from Scott High School in Madison WV, in 1971, with 12 years of perfect attendance. Her hobbies include traveling, cross-stitching, spending time with her friends and family, painting, diamond art, and fishing with her husband “only if he baited her hook.”
She moved to Greentown in 1988 and then to Kokomo in 1998. She was a member of First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Kokomo. She was a lifetime member of the Madison Rebekah Lodge of Madison, WV, Order of the Eastern Star Greentown Chapter #195 and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elks Club #190. She was also a member of the Scottish Rite Ladies Auxiliary of Indianapolis and the Ladies Auxiliary of Murat Temple of Indianapolis since 1995. She was a former board member of EquiVenture Therapeutic Riding for Disabled Children.
Barbara was employed at Boone National Bank from 1971-1979, Boone Memorial Hospital in Madison WV from 1979-1988, Big R offices in Kokomo from 1988-1989, and co-owner of Ross Dee and Waverly Dee Apartments in Greentown from 1999-2021.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 35 years, Ross; and brother, John (Kim) Dunlap.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Michael, Darrell and Randolf Dunlap; and sister, Brenda Estep.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Joyce Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11:00 am until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
