Janet Ann Kingery
Janet Ann Kingery, 90, of Dayton, OH., formerly of Greentown, IN., transitioned from this life to her heavenly home on Friday, March 24, 2023. She was ushered into the kingdom of God while peacefully sleeping. She was born March 16, 1933, in Kokomo, IN. and was the daughter of Donald and Zola (Echelbarger) Comer. Janet married Harold “Max” Kingery on November 24, 1950, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1998.
Janet graduated from Kokomo High School in 1950. She was a homemaker for many years, attending to the needs of her family before going to work for GM in Marion, IN from where she retired. She was a long-time member of New Life Assembly of God in Kokomo, IN., where she served in multiple roles. Janet wrote many poems pertaining to her savior Jesus Christ.
Janet is survived by her daughters, Terri (David) Leskovec of Port Orange, FL., Sandra (Terry) Smith of Dayton, OH. and a sister Judy Comer of Bethlehem, GA.; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Kingery; daughter, Susan Barnhill; and great grandson, Oliver Lake.

Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main Street, Greentown. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, with Rev. Devin Galloway officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Greentown, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Life Assembly of God, 1803 East Vaile Avenue, Kokomo, IN 46901.
Michael “Mike” James Symons
Michael “Mike” James Symons, 41, Bunker Hill, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at his home. He was born in Kokomo on November 4, 1981, to James Symons and Julia Smith.
Mike worked for Smithfield Foods in Peru for the last 9 years, he loved his job and his coworkers. He loved spending time with his family, especially his son, Bryston. He was a wonderful father who loved helping others. He enjoyed working on cars and fishing and loved his dogs. Mike had a great personality; he loved to joke around and make people laugh.
Mike is survived by his mother, Julia Smith; father, James Symons; daughter, Brooklyn Symons; son, Bryston Symons; brothers, Christopher Symons, and Craig (Megan) Sheely; grandmother, Janice Snowden; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Don Smith; and great grandparents, Grant & Betty Hayes.
A funeral service will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo. Friends may visit with the family from 2 pm to 4 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help assist the family with final expenses.
