Janette Marie Mitchell (Sutherin)
Janette Marie Mitchell (Sutherin) was born July 9th, 1965 to John and Juanita (Ford) Sutherin in Kokomo Indiana.
Janette enjoyed dance, girl scouts, 4H & Job's Daughters in her youth. She was active in the local Pioneer Auto Car Club and a lifetime member of AACA. She graduated from Tri Central High School in 1984. She attended Indiana Tech and graduated with a dual Bachelor’s degree in business & accounting. Janette was employed by Amazon prior to leaving due to illness.
She married Randy Mitchell December 1st, 2005. She then spent her time with family & friends enjoying different shows, baking desserts & playing board games & video games alike. She was a collector of antiques, cooking books & lawn ornaments.
She is survived by husband Randy Mitchell, brother John and his wife Dee Sutherin, sister Jennifer and her husband Randy Martin, Aunt Becky and her husband Lee Reeves, nephew Michael and his wife Ashley Sutherin, nephew Jon Mendenhall, niece Alexandrea “Bug” Sutherin & numerous more cousins, nieces & nephews.
Her final moments were spent surrounded by family with love and affection in abundance. In lieu of flowers, Janette would have wanted donations to the heart, kidney & lung foundations.
A memorial service will be Saturday March 4, 2023 2:00pm at Ellers Mortuary 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo with friends gathering from 11:00am until time of service.
Harold Dean Harris
Harold Dean Harris, 92, of Kokomo, passed away Monday February 27, 2023, at his home. He was born in Bradford, Arkansas, on November 16, 1930, the son of the late Luther James and Ethel Mae Harris. On December 26, 1953, he married Wilma Middleton, and she survives.
Harold retired from Continental Steel after a career as a brick mason. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a faithful member of Center Road Church of Christ. Harold was a kind man who always had a positive perspective on life. He was very knowledgeable and eager to learn. He loved being surrounded by his family and spending quality time with them. He enjoyed being outdoors and took great pride in mowing lawns.
Harold is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Wilma Harris; son-in-law, Steve Bower; sister, Lorene Bonham; grandchildren, Alex Bower, Cam Bower, Joe Bower, Tony Bower; great-granddaughters, Maddie Bower, Cassie Bower; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Henrietta, Eunice, Ruth, Irene; brothers, Acey, Leon; daughter, Sheilah Mae Bower; granddaughter, Serena Mae Utley; and a brother-in-law.
Private memorial service will be held and officiated by Pastor Lynn Brust. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Harold’s memory to a charity of your choice. Stout & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Messages of condolence may be left online at www.stoutandson.com.
Janet “Jan” Louise (Lewis) Williams
Janet “Jan” Louise (Lewis) Williams, 92, of Kokomo, passed away 9:19 am Friday February 24, 2023, at Waterford Health Campus in Kokomo. She was born in Indianapolis, IN, on December 3, 1930, the daughter of the late Daniel Fischer and Gladys Charlotte (Brown) Lewis. She married Garry Williams on January 4, 1952, and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2001.
Jan was a graduate of Broad Ripple High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at DePauw University, where she was in the Pi Beta Phi Sorority and met her husband, Garry. Jan was a very supportive wife as well as a homemaker raising their four children. Occasionally, she did secretarial work at the family business, B.W. Manufacturing. Jan’s greatest achievement was being an awesome mom. She could always be counted on to shuttle her children to all their various sports activities as well as being ‘team mom’, ‘coach’s wife’ or ‘horse show mom’. One of Jan’s many talents was driving a motorhome with a horse trailer hitched to it to many horses shows over the years. She was a kind and generous lady with a gracious heart and was always there for anyone in need. She was a member of First Congregational Church and played in the Tuesday women’s golf league at Chippendale Golf Course. Jan enjoyed reading, shopping, and writing. She and Garry enjoyed hosting gatherings at their special home, lovingly nicknamed The Ranch. They greatly supported TCU baseball and enjoyed traveling, especially to the southwest part of the USA. They also supported the YMCA, Kokomo High School Boosters Club, local baseball and were an avid Chicago Cubs fans as well as Indianapolis Colts season ticket holders.
She is survived by her children, Steven (Sue) Williams, Daniel (Julie) Williams, Debra (Todd) Hearn, Lewis (Tori) Williams; grandchildren, Kate (Nick) Sramek, Clay (Erandy) Williams, Mason Williams, Cody Whitehead, Kady Whitehead, Weston Hearn, Chase Williams, Griffin Williams, Colton Williams, great-grandchildren, Genevieve Williams, Aven Whitehead, Faye Sramek.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister-in-law & brother-in-law.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday March 7, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo, IN 46902.
