Alva “Al” Gene Clinton
Alva “Al” Gene Clinton, 75, of Kokomo, went to be with the Lord at 8:59 pm Sunday April 30, 2023, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. His loving wife of 52 years and his family were by his side. He was born in Tipton, IN, on January 15, 1948, the son of the late Earl and Flossie (Rush) Clinton. On October 9, 1970, he married Karen Barnes at Southside Christian Church, and she survives.
Al was a 1966 graduate of Kokomo High School. He retired from Delco Electronics in 1997 after 31 years of service as a tow motor driver. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was fascinated with nature and the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, driving his boat, grilling out, and hunting. He was passionate about listening to music and he had the best vinyl record collection. He also loved his vegetable garden. He was a member of Chapel Hill Christian Church in Kokomo. Al loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Al is survived by his wife, Karen Clinton; daughters, Staci (Brad) Smith, Shannon (Eric) Gomez; grandchildren, Dalton Pitner, Hope Smith, Lavendar Smith, Gabe Gomez; siblings, Kay (Jerry) Lasley, Phyllis (Doug) Rogers, Patty (Kevin) Carey, Wayne (Brenda) Clinton; and nieces and nephews, Becky, Chris, Ryan, Kristin, Melissa, and Sarah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Flossie Clinton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rick and Betty Barnes.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 am to 1 pm Monday May 8, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo, IN 46902. Funeral service will begin at 1 pm on Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Steve Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Darrell Lynn Johnson
Darrell Lynn Johnson, 53, West Lafayette, Indiana passed away on April 28, 2023. He was born on September 1, 1969 in Brown County, Indiana the son of Nelson Johnson, Sr. and Isalean (Goode) Johnson. Darrell loved fishing. He was a master Barber for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and the Navy. He was also known for his love of dogs especially his two dogs.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Lakeisha Johnson; granddaughter, Jisselle.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nelson Sr.
