Rita Joann Parrish
Rita Joann Parrish, age 76, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023. She was born February 6, 1947, to Chester and Mildred (Morris) Haworth in Kokomo. She was a graduate of the 1965 class of Kokomo High School, and after she graduated, she worked for at Delco for a short time. She met her future husband, Winfred, at Grissom Air Reserve base during the Vietnam war, and they married August 12, 1967. She stayed with Delco until her second child was born, choosing to stay at home and take care of her family full time. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since the age of 18. She was a Daughter of Job prior to that. She was a very active member, holding every title you can have, up to a Worthy Matron. She loved to crochet and make quilts, and she was very talented. She loved to entertain and beautifully decorate her home with Home Interior items. She would host all the family functions and her home was dubbed "the Party House". She was kind, generous and loved her family very much.
Rita is survived by her husband, Winfred; brother, Bruce Haworth; her children, Kirk (Rachel) Parrish, Brent (Cyndi) Parrish, Greg (Jennifer) Parrish, and Beth Parrish; grandchildren, Alyssa, Samson, Amber, Preston, Braden, Hunter, Taylor, Hayley and Ashlyn, and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Mildred, and sister, Janet Haworth.
A visitation for Rita will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902. A funeral service will occur the following morning at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Jack Harold Haigh
Jack Harold Haigh, 87, Kokomo, passed away at 9:25 am Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at his home. He was born September 2, 1936, the son of the late James Harold & M. Irene (Spence) Haigh. On august 31, 1984, in Kokomo, he married Kathy J. Hopper who survives.
Jack was a 1954 graduate of J W Sexton High School. He served with the United States Air Force. He graduated from General Motors Institute in 1958 where he received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1959. Jack had a lifelong career with General Motors and retired after 39 years of service as a Mechanical Engineer.
Jack was a member of Grace Baptist Church and enjoyed Ham Amateur Radio, flipping houses and all things car. He truly loved his family and friends and enjoyed helping others.
Along with his wife Kathy, Jack is also survived by his sons, Daniel Haigh and Michael (Peggy) Haigh; stepson, J.R. Jaenicke and Matthew Jaenicke; brother, Jere (Jean) Haigh; grandchildren, Keenan (Tia) Jaenicke, Devin (Haylee) Jaenicke, Dillon (Shelby) Jaenicke, David (Louisa) Haigh, Vanessa (Prashant Kumar) Haigh and Kevin Haigh, along with 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debra and Greg Snyder, Elizabeth and Larry Bradburn and Rebecca Masters.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Amanda Jaenicke; and granddaughter, Aubrey Peters.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 pm Friday, November 17, 2023, at Grace Baptist Church, 2818 S. Park Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Kerry Williams officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1-2 pm Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in Jack’s memory to Grace Baptist Church. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
Corey Allen Griggs
Corey Allen Griggs, 38, Kokomo, passed away Monday November 13, 2023. He was born December 28, 1984, in Tipton, IN, to Larry G. Griggs and Karen S. (Nance) Weaver.
Corey had a big heart and was a delightful person to know. His contagious smile and big bear hugs will be deeply missed. He generously loved his family and spending time with them, especially his nieces and nephews. Corey will be remembered for his love of fishing, the Green Bay Packers, music, and riding his motorcycle. He was gracious with his time and resources, always helping others in need.
He is survived by his parents, Larry Griggs and Karen Weaver; sons, Tylor Griggs and Riley Mitchell; sisters, Shannon Smith and Robin Crittendon; nieces and nephews, Josh Smith, Jazzy Smith, Cody Sullivan, Isaac Crittendon, and Kortni Martin; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Barbara Spivey and Robert and Ruth Nance; brother-in-law, Jason Smith; and a special aunt, Cathy Featherstone.
A Memorial service celebrating Corey's life will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2023, at Mt Zion Free Methodist Church, 13048 S. 400 W. Kokomo, with Jackson Moore officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Stephen Alan “Steve” Barr
Stephen Alan “Steve” Barr, 69, Kokomo, passed away at 8:50 am Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo, after a long struggle with health issues. He was born November 29, 1953, in Tipton, IN, the son of the late Max & Dorothy (Deardoff) Barr.
Steve was a great lover of sports and was a huge fan of the Boston Celtics, the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Cubs. He was an avid fan of music and had impeccable taste. He was witty and sarcastic, and he made everyone around him laugh. Steve loved his family and was always there for anything they needed. He will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him, and that list is far too long to list here.
Steve is survived by his partner, Patsy Claytor; his two children, Rob Barr and Beth Barr; grandchildren, Jade Barr, Josh Wilson, Billy Wilson, Susie Wilson, Nessa Wilson, Maryjo Wilson and Nikki Wilson along with 18 great-grandchildren.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Barr; and great-granddaughter, Imani Wilson.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Paul Sutherland officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1-3 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Steve’s memory to the Kokomo Humane Society.
