Paula Marie Alter
Paula Marie Alter, age 71, of Whitestown, Indiana, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023.
A visitation for Paula will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Ellers Mortuary & Crematory Center, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.

Timothy L. Winter
Timothy L. Winter, 60, of Galveston, passed away unexpectedly at his home Wednesday, October 11, 2023. He was born October 22, 1962, in Logansport to Daniel T. and Myra K. (Scott) Winter.
Tim was a carpenter for the Three H company in Cicero, Indiana for 30 years. He is survived by his children, Kristen (Jacob) Holmes of Bowling Green, KY; Ashley Nelson of South Bend, IN; Brooke (Julio) Azpeitia of Logansport, IN; and Camden Winter and girlfriend Brooklynn of Galveston. Surviving grandchildren include, Rafael, Max, Liliana, Cecilia, Presley, Halle, Michael, Lacy and Precious. Tim is also survived by his siblings, Dan (Mary) Winter, Jr. of Florida; Bonnie (Sam) Coate of Greentown, IN; John (Christy) Winter of Peru, IN; and Rick (Lisa) Winter of Kokomo, IN. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Tim enjoyed racing and spent most days working on his race car with “Peepaw”. He also enjoyed spending time with his son Camden and traveling to many different racetracks where he competed. He also loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston. Memorial services will follow visitation at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with son-in-law, Pastor Jacob Holmes officiating.
Anita S. Schaeffer
Anita S. Schaeffer, 65, Burlington, went to be with the Lord Friday, October 13, 2023, with her family and close friends by her side. She was born February 4, 1958, in Kokomo, the daughter of the late Wayne and Wanda (York) Jackson. On November 6, 1982, she married Byron K. Schaeffer, and he preceded her in death on September 19, 2021.
Anita was a 1976 Northwestern High School graduate. After graduating high school, she met and married her husband. Anita and Byron were lifelong residents of the small community of Burlington, where they raised both of their sons.
Anita loved all genres of music but preferred blues and rock. She loved attending live concerts. She was a giving lady and enjoyed sending cards to her family and friends. Her biggest love was her family, and she loved spending time with them. Her grandchildren gave her great joy. Anita had said in her last days that she was very happy with the circle of friends that surrounded her.
Anita was very much involved in the community. She was a member of the Crossroads Community Christian Church, volunteered for Booster Club Bingo for over twenty-five years, a member of the Good Ol’ Boys M.C, a member of The Ladies of IBN Saud Grotto, and was vice president of the park board of Burlington. Anita retired from Carroll Jr./Sr. High School after working there for over twenty years.
She is survived by her son, Andrew (Amanda) Schaeffer; grandchildren, Crimson Knapp, Emilee Schaeffer, and Eliot Schaeffer; brothers, Chris Jackson and Steve Jackson; sister, Vivian Ramer; several nieces and nephews; and her lifelong friend, Karen Howard.
In addition to her husband, Anita was preceded in death by her son, Shane Micheal Schaeffer; parents; paternal grandparents, Cecil and Sabra (Shelby) Jackson; maternal grandparents, Clifton and Lillie (Neal) York; and sister, Michelle Lee Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Crossroads Community Christian Church, 3570 E. 200 S., Bringhurst, with Dan Butcher officiating. Burial will follow at Ball Hill Cemetery where Anita will be laid to rest by her husband and son. Friends may visit with the family from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the church. Kelly Renee Randolph
Kelly Renee Randolph, age 54, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at her residence. She was born on June 26, 1969 in Kokomo to the late Michael F. Randolph and Lynda (King) Randolph and she survives.
Kelly attended Kokomo High School. During high school, she was involved with the Special Olympics. Kelly previously worked at Bona Vista for many years. She enjoyed fishing, puzzles, and animals. Kelly was an avid Colts fan.
Kelly is survived by her mother, Lynda; sister, Angela (Tim) Porter; brother, Daniel "Danny" (Elizabeth) Randolph; aunts and uncles, Patricia and Tom Sheridan, Carolyn and Larry Carver, Christy and Joe Shoemaker, Teresa and Randy Keown, and Lanora and Chuck Eldridge; four nieces, Alyssa, Alexandra, Nicole, and Luisa, and one nephew, Brandon; two great nieces, Eisley and Aleah and three great nephews, Ezra, Asher, and Elliott; and a host of cousins.
Kelly is preceded in death by her father, Michael; paternal grandparents, Francis and Maureen Randolph and maternal grandparents, Orville and Mary King; and many uncles and aunts.
There will be a time of visitation on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at Ellers Mortuary Webster Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Officiating will be Joshua Shoemaker. Burial will follow to Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Deanna Mae Wright
Deanna Mae Wright, 55, Kokomo, passed away at 9:17 pm Sunday, October 8, 2023, at her home. She was born December 4, 1967, in Murray, KY to Ted L. and Jo Ann (Carter) Starner. On October 10, 1992, she married Myron Wright, and he survives.
Dee was a 1986 Haworth High School graduate and graduated with a culinary arts Degree from Ivy Tech. She worked as a department manager for Marsh Supermarkets for 30 years before substitute teaching for Eastern Schools.
Always the perfect hostess, Dee loved cooking, baking, setting up for, and hosting parties, holidays, and special events. She was a loving wife and mother devoting herself to her family always. Her pets were also a big part of her life and she cherished her dogs.
Dee is survived by her husband, Myron Wright; children, Tyler Wright and Evan Wright; sisters, Stephanie (Jeremy) Novinger and Elizabeth (John) Armstrong; nieces, Kendall Novinger and Madison Armstrong; uncle, Bruce (Rita) Carter; as well as several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services celebrating Dee’s life will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Dee’s name to the Kokomo Humane Society.
