Paula Marie Alter
Paula Marie Alter, 71, of Whitestown, Indiana passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023. She was born March 7, 1952 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to the late McCoy and Charlene Maxwell.
Paula graduated from Western School Corporation, and then went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology. She worked as a Medical Technologist for over 30 years at Howard Community Hospital.
She was very involved with her church, New Hope Missionary Baptist. She played the piano, taught Sunday school, and also organized their Vacation Bible School.
Paula is survived by her children Rachel (David) Cox and Joshua (Anastasia) Alter; grandchildren Lillian Alter, Jacob Alter, and Gavin Alter; brother Wayne Maxwell; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Paula is preceded in death by her siblings Johnny Maxwell, Bonnie Stone, and Kathy Maxwell.
A visitation for Paula will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Ellers Mortuary & Crematory Center, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.

Daniel Lee Horoho
Daniel Lee Horoho, 85, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis. He was born February 10, 1938, in Greentown to William Creath and Emma Florence (Scott) Horoho. On April 7, 1957, he married Shirley and she survives.
Dan graduated from Eastern High School in 1956. He worked at Chrysler Transmission Plant for thirty-three years. During retirement he and Shirley were members of the Kokomo Swinging Squares for over twenty years and were members of Avid Round Dancers. They had traveled the United States attending dances and always tried to see some sights along the way. Dan was a member of the Greentown Masonic Lodge and sang with a barbershop quartet several years ago.
He was known and loved by many as he never met a stranger. He could start up a conversation with anyone and always had a quick-witted reply to any remark. He touched a lot of lives by working at both the Shell and Pine service stations in Greentown, as well as driving a school bus.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Tami (Steve) Cass; son, Kerry (Sandy) Horoho; grandchildren, Nick (Amanda) Cass, and Leslie (Wayne) Holt; great-grandchildren, Christian Holt, Natalie Holt, and Emily Cass; brothers, Jim (Mary Lou) Horoho and Charlie (Linda) Horoho; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Dan was preceded in death were his parents, Emma Florence and William Creath Horoho; sisters, Wanda Sturgeon, Jane Schult; brother Clyde Horoho; and infant daughter Baby Horoho.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E Main St, Greentown, conducted by the Greentown Masonic Lodge #341. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday October 18, 2023, at the funeral home. Messages of condolence may be left at www.hasler-stout.com.
