David A. Walker
David A. Walker, 62, Kokomo, passed away at 3:17 pm on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born on March 12, 1961, in Marion, IN, to Arnold & Marsha (Tutterow) Walker. He married Paula C. Dillon on July 1, 1990, in Pigeon Forge, TN., and she survives.
He graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1979. He worked for Borg Warner as a line operator. He also was a wrecker driver for Harner’s Wrecker Service. David and Paula enjoyed camping together. He enjoyed watching stock car racing and driving wreckers.
Along with his wife Paula, David is survived by his mother, Marsha (Kirt) Baugh; children, Michael Walker, Ashley Rivera, and Christopher (Misty) Haley; grandchildren, Malaki Haley, Issac Haley, and Jaida Haley; siblings, Lorrie Walker, and Dale (Rose) Walker; and brother-in-law, Jim (Sally) Dillon.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Walker; uncle, Denny Walker; aunt, Patricia Osborne; brother-in-law, John Dillon; and father & mother-in-law, James, Sr. and Margaret Dillon.
Paula would like to thank Jim Dillon Jr, Tom Lennon Avis Sr, Tammy McCarter, Dale Walker, her neighbor, Bill Clark, and all her friends for standing by and supporting her. Thank you to the staff at Community Heart and Vascular ICU for your care for David.
A funeral service will be held at Noon on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Jim Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10 am until the start of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jackson Street Commons, 322 E. Jerry Allen Ford
Jerry Allen Ford, 76, Kokomo, went home to be with the Lord at 12:37 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2023, from St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born December 23, 1946, in Kokomo to Charles F. and Hazel L. (Ellison) Ford. On October 28, 1990, he married Cheryl (Riffe) Smith, and she survives.
A 1965 Kokomo High School graduate, Jerry went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue in 1970. He would later earn his Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana Wesleyan.
In the 1970’s, Jerry was owner, operator, and master mechanic of a Sunoco Service Station on Center Road and US 31 in Kokomo. He was an Electrical Engineer for Chrysler Casting Plant in Kokomo for 22- and one-half years and retired from Chrysler as a Data Center Supervisor after 33 total years of service where he also served as chaplain for management.
Jerry will be remembered for his patience and honesty and loved teaching his knowledge to others. He deeply cherished his family and was a loving husband and father who mentored his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed sci-fi, Star Trek, building and servicing computers, and reading technical manuals.
Jerry was a member of Christian Heritage Worship Center where he and his wife served for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Ford; children, David Deschaine, Eric (Deanna) Smith, Travas (Amanda) Smith, and Jennifer (Tony) Seagrave; grandchildren, Eric Smith, Ashley Roth, Alyssa Goodman, Sierra Eastburn, Cortnie Smith, Travas Smith Jr, Katelynn Seagrave, Anthony Seagrave, and Owen Seagrave; eight great-grandchildren; and a niece, Pam Wainscott.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jamakie Riggs.
Services celebrating Jerry’s life will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Christian Heritage Worship Center, 3007 E Carter St, Kokomo, with Pastor Devan Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Georgia Ann Barrow
Georgia Ann Barrow, 88, Peru, passed away at 1:30 am on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Aperion Care in Peru. She was born in Whitehall, IL, on June 17, 1935, to the late Charles and Alice Lawson. She married Robert H. Barrow in Roodhouse, IL, on December 7, 1962, and he preceded her in death on August 29, 2002.
Georgia was an Occupational and Physical Therapist, a career she entered once her children were older. She absolutely loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Georgia is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Shawn) Barrow Houser; son, Ronald Barrow; Eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; daughter, Bobbi Jo Dray; and 11 siblings.
