Mary B. Lamb
Mary B. Lamb, 78, of Kokomo, passed away on Thursday August 31, 2023, at Community Howard Regional Health, Kokomo. She was born on March 24, 1945 in Kokomo, the daughter of Charles E. and Anna M. (Rosier) Stout. On May 26, 1963, in Phlox, Indiana, she married Marvin David Lamb, and he survives.
Mary was a 1963 graduate of Clay Township High School, Miami County, and a 1985 graduate of Wrights Beauty College, Kokomo. She was a hairdresser for many years, working in salons and her home. She worked for many years at Smart Style in Kokomo, Noblesville & Rochester. She was one of eight children and was very connected to her siblings and extended family. Mary enjoyed cooking, crafting, sewing, quilting, and knitting. She was a master storyteller especially with children. Mary was very generous, caring, and giving. She would take in stray animals and was always ready to lend a hand and help others. She was an active member and devoted pastor’s wife for many years at Miami Wesleyan Church.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Marvin Lamb; children, Dr. Marcel (Michelle) Lamb, Marlena (Milton) Guerra, and Maria (Les) Hall; grandchildren, Reyna (Drew) Williams, Cassandra Guerra (Christian Han), Joshua Guerra, Annabelle Hall, Madelyn Lamb, and Kelsea Hall; great-grandchildren, Grayson Williams and Josephine Williams; siblings, Nora Neal, Marjorie Meyers, Kay (Steve) McKee, Richard (Wanda) Stout, and David Stout; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Diane Eckelbarger and Charles “Jim” Stout.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Kokomo Zion Church, 5051 E. County Rd 400 N, Kokomo, with Pastors Keith Chanley and Jeannie Winter officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4–7:00 pm on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo and one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday. Virginia Lee Carter
Virginia Lee Carter, 94, of Noblesville, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. She was born a twin to the late Jacob and Thula Herr on June 22,1929 in Kokomo, IN.
Virginia met her husband James Carter at Demit's Dairy and together they raised two children. She worked in the payroll department at Continental Steel. She worked for Westfield Washington schools. Virginia became the Executive director of the Hamilton County American Red Cross.
She enjoyed shopping and friends. She spent her youth attending the Kokomo Christian Church. Later in life she attended Gray Friends Church in Westfield.
Virginia is survived by her children Jeff (Terri) Carter and Marsha (Mike) Kehrer; grandchildren Brian (Angela) Carter, Dan (Michelle) Pescovitz, Abby (Jack Cruse) Russell, Sara Hiatt, Monica (Peter) Fastenau, Melanie (Zach) Simms, Morgan Kehrer; great grandchildren Prestin Hiatt, Audrey Carter, and Fallon Pescovitz; twin sister Marge Swing.
In addition to her parents Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years James Carter; sister Dorothy Ridenour; and grandson Timothy Carter.
A visitation for Virginia will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
