Janet L. Hurlock
Janet L. Hurlock, 68, Kokomo, passed away at 10:29 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2023 at Community Howard Regional Health, Kokomo. She was born June 13, 1955 in Kokomo to Carl and Betty (Bolser) Clelland. On June 10, 1987 she married Jerry Hurlock and he survives.
A 1973 Haworth High School graduate, Janet took pride in her work. Over the years she worked for DuPont, Chrysler, Beauty Supply Outlet, Kokonuts Bar & Grill, and was a bus driver for Kokomo Schools. Janet never met a stranger and made many lasting friendships at each of her places of employment.
Janet will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother, who cherished time spent with her family. As a grandma, she enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and different activities. Janet had a passion for cooking and eating with family and friends. She also enjoyed writing poems for those near to her heart. Janet had a love for shopping and loved to shower her family and friends with gifts. Her loving nature was also evident as an animal lover, and she adored her Boston Terriers.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Hurlock; children, Hope Young, Michael (Miranda) Thompson, Jerry (Tina) Hurlock Jr, Jason (Beth) Hurlock, and Ashley (Phillip) Deck; grandchildren, Rylee Thompson, Alex Mims, Skylar (Miranda) Bagwell, Kaly Griggs, Ramsie (Jason) Smith, Aaron Ringley, Bethany (Joe) Shoffner, Jason (Meagan) Hurlock II, Jordan (Taylor) Fivecoate, Noah (Abby) Hurlock, Justin Hurlock, Ella Deck, Cooper Deck, Alisha (Jake) Robertson, Gabby Branch, and Olivia Branch; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Charlotte Feller; nephew, Robert Anderson and his children, Ashlyn Anderson, Lillian Anderson, and Amelia Anderson; great-great nephews, Sunny and Roman; and great-great niece, Bailey; as well as many lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Justin Hurlock, grandson, Paxton Swing Thompson; sisters, Carol Jewell and Marsha Anderson; and a niece, Alisha Whiteman.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 pm on Friday, September, 22, 2023 at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road with Phillip Deck officiating. Entombment will be in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from Noon until service time Friday at the funeral home. Judith Lynn (Strunk) Camp
Judith Lynn (Strunk) Camp, 78, Sharpsville, passed away at 3:15 pm on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at her home. Judy was born in Howard County on September 17, 1944, to the late Kenneth and Audrey Glenn (Sheilds) Long. On July 28, 1965, she married Dennie Strunk, and he preceded her in death on May 1, 1974.
Judy was a 1962 graduate of Eastern High School; she then attended Cosmetology School and earned her Beautician License. She worked for General Motors and retired in 1999 after 35 years of service. Judy enjoyed her flower gardens, knitting, crocheting, plastic canvas, going on cruises and swimming in her pool. She loved going to Beef & Boards with her friends and her Euchre Club.
Judy is survived by her sons, Gary (Tresha) Strunk and Terry Strunk; step children, Kelli (Greg) Gilbert, Shane Camp, and Samantha (Michael) Williams; grandchildren, Abby (Colby) Shaffer and Ashley Strunk; step grandchildren, Jonathan Harman, Jacob Moeller, Joel (Miranda) Moeller, AJ Amador, Quenton Camp, Alayna (Brandon) Murray, and Breanna Camp; great grandchildren, Daxton Shaffer, Bowen Shaffer; nephew, David (Trang) Long; and Holly Stahl and Bianca Stahl.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband; second husband, Harold “Ted” Camp; brother and sister-in-law, James “Jim” and Shirley Long.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am Friday, September 22, 2023, at Stout & Son Funeral Home-Sharpsville Chapel, 204 N. Church Street, Sharpsville, with Pastor Jason Grant officiating. Burial will follow in Sharpsville Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the funeral home. Dorothy Fay Hinkle
Dorothy Fay Hinkle, 84, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023. She was born August 13, 1939 to the late Garrett and Bertha Jameson.
In her younger years, Dorothy played softball and also enjoyed bowling. She became a semi-pro at bowling, she traveled all over for tournaments.
She was a lifelong member of the Eagles as well as the American Legion. She had a special job at the Eagles being their 50/50 ticket seller. Dorothy worked for General Motors until her retirement.
When she was a resident of Florida she was an avid beach goer.
Dorothy spent her free time coloring pictures with colored pencils and painting bird houses.
She is survived by her two children Terry Wilcox and Brenda (Jed) Hainlen; siblings Helen Wrathall, Edna Roberts, and Tommy Jameson; grandchildren Nicole Wilcox, Cory (Nicole) Hainlen, and Amanda Hainlen; and great grandchildren Alice Hainlen and Jackson Hainlen.
In addition to her parents Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Dale Hinkle; siblings Buddy Jameson, Roy Jameson, Lucy Dowers, Mildred Nesbit, Lola Sturgeon, and Kate Thomas.
The family would like to thank Brickyard Healthcare and Gentiva Hospice for their exceptional care of Dorothy during her final days.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Joy Meyers
Joy Meyers, of Kokomo, Indiana went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 18, 2023, with her sons and daughters by her side at the age of 82.
Joy was born on May 23, 1941, in Kokomo Indiana. She attended Kokomo High School, class of 1959. She married the love of her life, Ray Meyers, on March 9, 1959. Joy and Ray had the opportunity to spend the next 5 decades building their family and traveling throughout the United States. Joy and Ray returned to Kokomo in 2010.
Joy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a warm, nurturing and charismatic person who loved gardening, laughing, and spending quality time with her children, grandchildren and friends. She also loved vacationing with family and friends.
As a mother of 5 who experienced many travels, Joy always gave wise words of advice to her family and friends. She could always be counted on for candid and sincere guidance through her quick wit and sense of humor. Joy brought a bright light to every room and conversation she was a part of. In all interactions, she rang true to her name. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her brothers, Terry Kaufman of Indianapolis, Indiana and Jack Kaufman of Kokomo, Indiana. She is also survived by her children, Dawn Pierson of Kokomo, Indiana, Bret Meyers and his wife Karri Meyers of Cedarburg Wisconsin, Phillip “Phil” Ray Meyers II of Kokomo, Indiana, Anne Padgett and her husband Michael Padgett of Kokomo, Indiana, and Elizabeth Bell and her husband Jeremiah Bell of Seminole, Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren Zachary Meyers, Erik Meyers, Kylie Turner, PJ Meyers, Tyler Padgett, Cody Turner and his wife Nour Bizri, Taylor Padgett, Megan Meyers, Adam Schaeffer, and Jacob Bell. She is also survived by her great grandson Conor Meyers. Her lifelong friends John and Sherry Culbertson and Becky Beane.
Joy was preceded by her husband, Phillip “Ray” Meyers; parents, Albert and Evelyn Kaufman. Her son-in-law Richard Pierson. Grandchildren Molly Elizabeth and Joseph Mathew Schaeffer and Phillip James Meyers.

Christina Ann Smith
Christina Ann Smith, 47, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away September 19, 2023. She was born on September 24, 1975 in Kokomo, IN the daughter of Webb and Donna (Russell) Vincent. She married Mike Smith who survives. Christy enjoyed coloring and doing crossword puzzles. She always loved animals especially her dog, Radar. She also enjoyed fishing.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Kyndyll Vincent; nieces, Kailee (Jesse) Comarella, Abbey (Jake) Cox; nephew, Tyler (Shelly) Vincent; great-nephews, Elijah, Mason, Alakai, Easton, Jaxon; great-niece, Payton.
Christy was preceded in death by brother, Brian Vincent; sister, April Sparks; niece, Breanna Sparks; grandparents, Bill and Anna Vincent, and Leon and Wanda Russell.

Julia Marie Rose
Julia Marie Rose, 67, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away September 10, 2023. She was born on February 15, 1956 in Knox, Indiana the daughter of Richard E. and Dorothy Edna Rose.
Julia spent most of her time studying her Bible and listening to Christian music. As a way to relax outside of her studies; she would often watch a cooking or house repair show, play a video game, or crochet blankets. She also enjoyed the thrill of a game of billiards, bowling and riding rollercoasters at an amusement park. Before retirement Julia was head of health and beauty accessories at Rochester, Indiana Walmart which was a position she really enjoyed.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents as well as her niece April Rose.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving daughter, Margaret Chapman along with her son in law Jacob Chapman. She also has two living sisters Kathy Rose and Brenda Schlick as well as several nieces and nephews.
