Kokomo motorists have had to endure construction barriers and barrels along Markland Avenue for months. That project, however, is nearly complete. But that is just the beginning for the city’s paving season.

Kokomo has four major repaving projects slated for this year which will require citizens to either seek alternate routes or carefully navigate through work zones. The Markland Avenue project is the first of those. In coming weeks, motorists should plan on Center Road, Park Avenue, and Hoffer Street being restricted or even impassable as repaving takes place.

All of these projects are tentative and will be given to an outside contractor – most likely E&B Paving. But there is a lengthy list of smaller, secondary streets that desperately need to go under the knife. According to Kokomo Mayor Tyler Moore, there is more than enough work that needs to be done, and not nearly enough time and resources to get to everything on the list.
