We are learning so much more that we need to monitor....Water and electricity seem to be precious and we MUST prevent it becoming scarce or outrageously expensive. We don't seem to have any bodies that really oversee entire projects and the process starts before anyone knows about it...sellers and buyers, then deal with the consequences at a later date. I don't know the answer but I hope we can figure it out...not unlike the LEAP Project....

While I, as a council member, voted in favor of the rezoning, I share the community's concerns, which I feel haven't been adequately addressed. I'm particularly troubled that this group has been told by both the plan commission and, subsequently, the city council that their concerns are outside of our purview.

Of the city's eleven elected officials, all but the mayor were present, and ten of us essentially dismissed the community's concerns, claiming we are not responsible. I believe the administration should have brought in relevant experts, such as the city inspector and state IDEM officials, to thoroughly address these issues.
