Saturdays in May are proving to be busy and bustling this year, and today — May 17 — is shaping up to continue the trend. Those seeking a little adventure and entertainment will not be disappointed. Here’s a rundown of some of the better opportunities for fun taking place today.
The Kokomo Downtown Farmers Market continues its 2025 season this morning from 9 a.m. until noon. Located at the corner of Washington and Mulberry Streets in downtown Kokomo, the market offers a vibrant selection of farm-fresh produce, locally made foods, handcrafted goods, and artisan creations. The market also features hot food vendors, live music, and a welcoming, community-oriented atmosphere for all ages.
Families with young children are invited to take part in Little Sprouts, a kid-focused activity series offered throughout the season. These free, hands-on experiences are designed to connect children with healthy food, nature and creativity. The market proudly accepts SNAP benefits, helping ensure that nutritious, local food is accessible to everyone. For more information about the market, visit www.kokomofarmersmarket.com.
From the market, it’s time to enjoy a classic car show. DSI Together with Bona Vista will hold its annual Wagons and Wheels Car Show, beginning at 10 a.m. and running until 1 p.m. Enjoy the vehicles and take the opportunity to vote for your favorite hot rods and wheeled wonders.
The event features cars and trucks, new and old, along with a few more unusual entries — like a semi or a few vintage motorcycles — all on display during this fundraiser, which takes place in the Bona Vista Services parking lot at 1220 E. Laguna St.
Bona Vista, a subsidiary of DSI since 2017, serves individuals with disabilities from a 16-county area, providing children and adults with early intervention strategies, residential placement, day programming, transportation, employment opportunities, and several other assistive efforts.
