The eighth-grade football squads for Taylor and Eastern high schools faced off last week in a cross-county contest that gave fans a sneak preview of the future for both programs.
The young athletes did their best to hone their skills on the field and bring home a victory, but Eastern wasn’t interested in sharing the spotlight.
The Comets completely dominated the Titans, 46-0, with a display that certainly had Eastern’s varsity coaches excited about the future.
The win was the first of the season for Eastern, which previously struggled against Hamilton Heights, Western, and R.J. Baskett.
Taylor next hosts Clinton Central on Sept. 19, while Eastern hopes to improve on its 1-3 record as it invites Carroll to Greentown on the same night.
