Community Food Drive
The Center Township Trustee’s Office is holding its second annual Community Food Drive through March 31. The drive will benefit the office’s Hand Up Food Pantry. The office is accepting donations of dry cereal, pasta, pasta sauce, peanut butter, jelly, canned vegetables, beans, and fruit, crackers, juice, and granola/cereal bars. Donations may be dropped off at the township office, 213 E. Jefferson St., from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8 a.m. until noon on Fridays. Hand Up Pantry
The Center Township Trustee’s Office has opened its Hand Up Food Pantry at the township office, 213 E. Jefferson St. The pantry is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. The goal is to serve those experiencing food insecurity. Participants must make an appointment by calling 765-452-8259. A photo ID or proof of address is required.
New Baby Bunch
Do you have a new bundle of joy? Or do you feel like you’re in the trenches of parenting? Join the New Baby Bunch for friendship, support, and to share your parenting journey with other caregivers. The group meets each Monday from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road. The next meeting is Mon., March 17. Caregivers with a baby ages birth to 12 months are welcome to participate. Older siblings are welcome to join also.
Meditation Mondays
Experience change, growth, and vitality through meditation with Raine and Sage Healing Center, 901 S. Courtland Ave. Sessions take place every first and third Monday of the month from 10-10:45 a.m. and are free to all. The next session takes place on Mon., March 17.
Preschool Story Time: St. Patrick’s Day
Children will learn about missing shamrocks, silly goats, and tricky leprechauns in this fun holiday story time at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library in Russiaville, 305 Mesa Dr., on Mon., March 17, from 10-11 a.m. Be sure to wear something green! All ages welcome.

Free Throw Contest
Think you have the best free throw shot in Kokomo? Prove it! The Carver Community Center, in partnership with the Howard County Sports Hall of Fame, will host a Free Throw Shooting Contest, running from March 17-April 10. The first five registrants in each age group will receive a discount on Carver Winter League Sign-ups next season. Over four weeks, competitors in four age divisions will descend upon the Carver Center, 1030 N. Purdum St., to take 25 shots each week. Track your shots to compete for awesome prizes in each age group. First place in each division will win a $100 Visa Gift Card. Second place wins a $50 card, and third place takes home a $25 card. The grade K-2 division will shoot on March 17, 24, 31, April 7. The grade 3-5 division shoots March 18, 25, April 1, 8. The grade 6-8 division shoots March 19, 26, April 2, 9. The grade 9-12 shoots March 20, 27, April 3, 10.

Kindermusik Music and Movement
Join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library for singing, dancing, and instrument play, which promote cognitive development! Kindermusik Music and Movement will be held at the library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road, on Tue., March 18, from 3:30-4 p.m. for children ages 18 months to 3 years. Your child's movements stimulate the release of chemicals in the brain to support memory and learning!
Discovery Center: Osmos
Have fun and meet new friends playing with the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s collection of low-tech and high-tech games and activities. On Tue., March 18, have fun with Osmos at the library’s main branch, 220 N. Union St., from 4-6 p.m. This event is designed for children ages 8-13.
Ballroom Dance Lessons
The Kokomo Ballroom Dance club will hold dance lessons at the Kokomo Senior Center, 721 E. Superior St., beginning March 18 and continuing until April 22; a total of six weeks. Intermediate lessons run from 6-7 p.m., and Beginner lessons run from 7:15-8:15 p.m. Cost is $100 for a couple or $50 for a single. A partner is not necessary but recommended.
How Does Your Garden Grow?
Strawberries from your own garden are a special treat! Most gardens, regardless of size, have enough room to grow these yummy berries. Join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library at its Russiaville branch, 305 Mesa Dr., on Tue., March 18, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. to learn more about planting strawberries in your garden.

Café Wednesdays
Welcome Table, a new Christian community will hold Café Wednesdays from 2-4 p.m. at the Starbucks next to the Markland Mall. Stop by, hand out, and learn more about how they welcome, include, and value all God’s beloved children. Soul Café worship gatherings will begin at Easter time. Spring into Tech Adult Technology Classes
Spring into tech by learning from Kokomo experts on the basics of computers, smart phones, scam prevention, and cyber security. Thanks to Community First Bank and Elsewhen Technology, the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s Digital Den, 201 N. Union St., will hold this adult technology class on Wednesdays in March at 3 p.m. On March 19, the Digital Den hosts Justin Van Zuiden, Fraud Manager at Community First Bank of Indiana, as he talks about scam prevention. March Madness Painting

Battle of the Badges
The American Red Cross and the Kokomo Family YMCA will host a Battle of the Badges blood drive on Fri., March 21, from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. But there is a twist. From 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. a Tug of War contest between the Kokomo Police Department, Kokomo Fire Department, and the Howard County Sheriff’s Office will take place. Make sure to root on your favorite team while giving blood and saving lives. Register to give by visiting www.redcrossblood.org. The Red Cross will perform free A1C testing on successful donations. Participants will receive a $10 Amazon gift card and a Battle of the Badges t-shirt.
Homeschool Hub
Celebrate Global Recycling Day on Fri., March 21, with the Kokomo Howard County Public Library, 220 N. Union St. Homeschoolers ages 6-13 can learn about sustainability in a fun, hands-on way. This event runs from 11 a.m. until noon.
Weekly Produce Pantry
Tzion Food Pantry, 614 W. Monroe St., holds a weekly produce food pantry every Friday from 1-3 p.m. Bring your own bags or boxes to take home your produce.
Spring Break Snack Giveaway
The Salvation Army of Kokomo knows that Spring Break is just around the corner. Kids always seem to need snacks during this time. On Fri., March 21, from 1-4 p.m., the Salvation Army will offer a free Spring Break Snack Giveaway at 1007 E. Foster St. If you need some extra snacks for your children, bring your ID and stop by.
St. Patrick’s Day BINGO

The Lion King Jr.

Staycation 2025
Staying in town for Spring Break? Make the Kokomo Family YMCA your destination for a Staycation. For $25 per household, you can purchase a Staycation Pass and enjoy your Spring Break at the Y for up to two weeks with full member access to the Y, including group fitness classes, the aquatics center, indoor track, and more. If you decide to join the YMCA by April 7, they take the $25 off your joiner fee, meaning you essentially get your first two weeks free and a 50-percent discount on the joiner fee. Staycation passes are valid from March 21 until April 6. Passes can be purchased starting on Friday, March 21.
