MONDAY
YMCA STEM Camp
Summer STEM Camp at Camp Tycony provides fun and educational activities designed to enhance children’s understanding of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Thanks to generous support from the United Way Serving Howard and Tipton Counties, there is no charge for this camp. Registration is open now, and spots are limited. Children may attend one session. Adult Summer Reading Program
The Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will hold its annual Adult Summer Reading Program through July 11. Themed “Color Our World,” the program invites you to employ your creativity in a variety of artistic activities as you read. Sign up, receive a reading log. Check out books and turn in your registration sheets to get summer started right! Win fantastic prizes by just reading for two hours. Prizes are awarded for up to 10 hours of reading, and whenever you visit the library to borrow books. Greentown Library Book Sale
Join the Greentown Public Library from June 30-July 13 for its annual book sale. Find great deals in the Library Community Room during normal operating hours as well as at the Howard County 4H Fair. All items will be 50 cents, with the proceeds benefiting library programs. Donations are being accepted at the library, 421 S. Harrison St.
“Dream Big” Summer Drama Camp
The Kokomo Wildkats Theater Department will present the “Dream Big” 2025 Summer Drama Camp, June 30-July 3. The camp takes place at Kokomo High School. Enter through Door 47. Camp sessions for 1st-3rd graders run from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Sessions for 4th-7th graders run from 10:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Session for 5th-12th graders run from 1-3 p.m. The camp culminates with a final performance on Thu., July 3, at noon. Hand Up Pantry
The Center Township Trustee’s Office has opened its Hand Up Food Pantry at the township office, 213 E. Jefferson St. The pantry is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. The goal is to serve those experiencing food insecurity. Participants must make an appointment by calling 765-452-8259. A photo ID or proof of address is required.
New Baby Bunch
Do you have a new bundle of joy? Or do you feel like you’re in the trenches of parenting? Join the New Baby Bunch for friendship, support, and to share your parenting journey with other caregivers. The group meets each Monday from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road. The next meeting is Mon., June 30. Caregivers with a baby ages birth to 12 months are welcome to participate. Older siblings are welcome to join also.
Reach Youth Summer Program
Looking for a summer program for the kids while they’re out of school? Turning Point will offer a Reach Youth program, Monday through Friday, through July 25 at its Reach Youth Office, 216 W. Walnut St. From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day, kids will experience educational trips, sports and recreation, social enrichment, arts and crafts, relationship building, and free lunch. Mud Camp
Find an adventure in every squish at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s Russiaville branch, 315 Mesa Dr., on Mon., June 30, from 10-11 a.m. Celebrate International Mud Day with messy play as a learning tool. The program will be fun and engaging, capturing the playful spirit of all who participate.
Sew Much
Teens and adults can drop in to learn sewing or quilting basics or get help with their projects at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s Sew Much event on Mon., June 30, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sewing machines provided. This event takes place at the library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road.
Preschool Programs at Greentown Library
The Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will offer a variety of programs throughout the summer for preschoolers. Register for these sessions by calling 765-628-3534. On Mondays in June, enjoy Babes in Story Land from 11-11:30 a.m. This program is designed for children ages 0-2. Every Tuesday in June from 10:30-11:30 a.m. will bring Story Hour for children ages 4-5. On Thursdays in June from 11-11:30 a.m., relive your favorite Mother Goose tales with your 3-year-olds. On Mon., June 30, get messy with your preschoolers as you paint as 4th of July t-shirt, beginning at 11 a.m. On Tue., July 1, at 11 a.m., it’s time for your little ones to make friends and explore color. On Thu., July 3, Wrangler and Friends visit the library at 11 a.m. to show how much Wrangler loves color.
CD Painting
Take the chance to paint on CDs at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road. From 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Mon., June 30, see how the paint reacts to the different surfaces of a CD and create your own CD art series. Teens only.
Recovery Café
Turning Point – A System of Care offers the Recovery Café, a time to connect with love, show respect, cultivate compassion, practice forgiveness, encourage growth, and to give something back. KPRD Recreation Adventure
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department will hold its Recreation Adventure Program at Highland, Bon Air, and Mohr parks through July 8. On Monday through Friday each week, from noon until 5 p.m., staff will be on hand at each park to offer leadership and organized games and sports for children, who may come and go on their own. Playgrounds will be supervised during these times. The staff also will offer arts and crafts, games, picnics, storytelling, and on Fridays they will offer special crafts. The cost of crafts will be $1 or less.
Tie-Dye at the Greentown Library
Throughout June, the Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will hold special programming each Monday from 2-3 p.m. On Mon., June 30, explore the art of fabric painting. Get creative and design your own canvas tote bag in the fun, hands-on workshop. The library will provide the tie-dye fabric markers and more: everything you need to make a unique masterpiece.
Adult Technology Camp
Join the Digital Den at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library on Mon., June 30, from 3-4:30 p.m. for a weekly class on all of the basics for technology in 2025. Also, learn how to stay safe online. Art Therapy for Adults
Brooke Komar, a board-certified art therapist and licensed mental health counselor, teaches to channel emotions into the art-making process. Active Readers Club
Join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library on Tue., July 1, from 8:30-9:30 a.m., to stay active and share your favorite reads while walking around Russiaville. Inclement weather times will include an indoor workout at the library, 315 Mesa Dr.
Mental Health Access Days
Are you an adult struggling with anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenge? Meet with a professional from 4C Health who can connect you to the support and services you need. Mental Health Access Days are held each Tuesday from 9 a.m. until noon at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s main branch, 220 N. Union St.
Free Summer Food Bags
This summer, all Tipton County families with kids under age 17 can register to pick up a free weekly food bag. Through Aug. 2, the bags will be available at the Tipton County Family Resource Center, 3021 W. Old St. (Ind. 28), as well as the Boys and Girls Club, and the Love Bug Café, 222 S. Independence St. The pick-up times are Mondays from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Each bag includes shelf-stable, kid-friendly food items along with a voucher for hot food from The Love Bug Café. Register in person at the Family Resource Center or call 765-667-7001 for additional information. The summer food bag program is accepting donations and volunteers throughout the summer. Northwestern Schools Summer Meals
Northwestern School Corp. will offer a summer meal program, free to all friends ages 18 and under. Meal pick-up will be available at Howard Elementary School, 3526 N, CR 300 E, at Door 2, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. every Tuesday. The last day of distribution will be July 15. Each child will receive five breakfasts and five lunches. Visit www.nwscnutrislice.com to review the summer menu. Any special dietary needs must be disclosed on the survey at least one week before participating.
Tzion Community Food Pantry

Dan Gogh’s Magic & Art Show blends comedy, magic, and art to spark creativity. The event takes place Tue., July 1, from 2-3 p.m. at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library, 220 N. Tiny Twirlers
Join Tiny Twirlers for a fun, energetic dance class where children ages 3-5 explore movement and rhythm through music, twirls, and giggles! The class takes place at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road, on Wed. July 2, from 10-10:45 a.m.
Summer Lunch Program
The Kokomo Housing Authority, Bridgeway Church, United Way Serving Howard and Tipton Counties, the Howard County Health Department, the Center Township Trustee’s Office, Solidarity Community Federal Credit Union, Northview Church, and Crossroads Community Church have collaborated to launch the Howard County Summer Lunch Program. Each Wednesday through July 23, all students from Howard County are eligible to receive a hot meal from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Bon Air Park, Garden Square Apartments, and Pine Valley Apartments. They also can receive a grab-n-go bag of food during each event. If there are hot meals still available at the end of each event, adults may purchase a hot meal for $5. Wednesdays at the Greentown Library
The Summer Reading Program at the Greentown Public Library, 421 E. Harrison St., is packed with activities for children. Each Wednesday at 1 p.m. through early July, the library will feature special programming. On July 2, dive into the MESStival and leave with a messy masterpiece of your own. On July 9, design a one-of-a-kind paper collage placemat using paper scraps. Take it home the same day, or leave it to be laminated.

Welcome Table, a new Christian community will hold Café Wednesdays from 2-4 p.m. at the Starbucks next to the Markland Mall. Stop by, hand out, and learn more about how they welcome, include, and value all God’s beloved children. Soul Café worship gatherings will begin at Easter time. Kokomo Park Band Concert

Blind Tiger Comedy Open Mic

CrisisReady Howard County
If your cell phone dies or the network crashes, how will you reach your loved ones? Do you know the best routes to use get a message through if the network is busy? CrisisReady is covering this and more during its July presentations. Free preparedness items and resources will be available to participants. Plus, learn QPR Suicide Prevention. The signs of mental health crisis are all around us. Through three simple steps, you can be equipped to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives through innovative, practical, and proven suicide prevention training. This event takes place on Thu., July 3, from 6:30-8:15 p.m. at Century Villa, 705 N. Meridian St., Greentown. NOTE: This training will occur at a time separate from the CrisisReady presentation on July 24th at 6 p.m. at Century Villa’s Community Room. This training requires at least five participants. Haynes-Apperson Festival
The Haynes Apperson Festival, celebrating Kokomo’s automotive heritage, takes place Thu., July 3 through Sat., July 5, in Foster Park near downtown Kokomo. Enjoy car shows, rides, food, vendors, fireworks, live music and more. The annual Haynes-Apperson Festival Parade takes place in downtown Kokomo on Sat., July 5, beginning at 2 p.m. Concert headliners each evening include Great White on Thu., July 3, Night Ranger on Fri., July 4, and Mark Farner’s American Band with Henry Lee Summer on Sat., July 5. Haynes-Apperson 5K
Registration for the Haynes-Apperson 5K is open now! On Sat., July 5, runners and walkers will travel the scenic course through downtown Kokomo and Foster Park along the Walk of Excellence Trail.
