Bluey Party
Join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library on Sun., Feb. 9, from 3:30-5 p.m. for a Bluey party for young fans and their families. This episode of Bluey is called “Party at the Library!” The event takes place at the library’s main branch, 220 N. Union St.
Planets on Parade
Learn more about NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) mission to discover worlds beyond our solar system at Indiana University Kokomo’s free Observatory open house on Sunday, February 9. Patrick Motl, dean of the School of Sciences and professor of physics, will begin the open house at 7 p.m. with discussion of a recent paper based on TESS observations of a terrestrial planet being disintegrated by its host star. After the presentation, stargazers may be able to see Saturn, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and the moon through the Observatory’s telescopes. Observation will continue through 9 p.m., weather permitting. The Observatory is at 2660 S. Washington St. Free parking is available on campus.
MONDAY
New Baby Bunch
Do you have a new bundle of joy? Or do you feel like you’re in the trenches of parenting? Join the New Baby Bunch for friendship, support, and to share your parenting journey with other caregivers. The group meets each Monday from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road. The next meeting is Mon., Feb. 10. Caregivers with a baby ages birth to 12 months are welcome to participate. Older siblings are welcome to join also.
Nursery Rhyme Time
Children will learn a rhyme, accompanied by fun, hands-on activities at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s Russiaville branch, 315 Mesa Dr., on Mon., Feb. 10, from 10-11 a.m. This event is designed for children ages 3-5.
Sew Much
Teens and adults can drop in to learn sewing or quilting basics or get help with their projects at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s Sew Much event on Mon., Feb. 10, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sewing machines provided. Recovery Café
Turning Point – A System of Care offers the Recovery Café, a time to connect with love, show respect, cultivate compassion, practice forgiveness, encourage growth, and to give something back. Winter Blues Busters: Play Dough Play

NERF Wars
Get ready to battle for NERF supremacy on Mon., Feb. 10, as the Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., transforms into warzone. Teens are invited to enjoy hot dogs and chips along with skirmishes with NERF guns provided by the library from 4:30-6 p.m. Plus, you’ll have the chance to win a NERF gun to take home in a special drawing. Core and Glutes Burn
New class alert! The Kokomo Family YMCA, 114 N. Union St., presents Core and Glutes Burn on Mondays at 5:35 p.m. in the TRX area. Your core and glutes are essential for supporting your body, so give them the attention they deserve. In this 30-minute class, you will focus on exercises that target your core and strengthen your posterior chain using unilateral movements. This targeted approach will help prepare you for improved movement in the future. Kickboxing
The Kokomo Family YMCA, 114 N. Union St., offers Kickboxing with Joanna each Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. in the Y’s Functional Fitness Room. The class combines cardio, boxing, and martial arts to create a dynamic program. Punch and kick your way to a healthier you. This class is open to YMCA members. KPRD PJ Party
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department will hold a PJ Party on Fri., Feb. 28, from 7-9 p.m. Registration for this event runs through Feb. 12, and the cost is $20 per child. There will be a viewing of The Secret Life of Pets, and there will be crafts and snacks. Drop-off no earlier than 6:45 p.m. This event is designed for children ages 5-11. Valentine Night Market
The Tipton County Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market will hold an indoor Valentine Night Market on Fri., Feb. 14, from 5:30-9 p.m. at the Tipton County Fairgrounds, 1200 S. Main St., Tipton. There will be more than 25 vendors. Market musicians Alec & Taylor and Forrest & and Michelle will perform. Drawpartner Graphics will do caricature drawings, and there will be a partner painting activity. One lucky shopper will win a gift basket.
Grandparents Dance
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department will host a Grandparents Dance on Fri., Feb. 14, from 6-8 p.m. at the Kokomo Senior Center in Foster Park. This event is open to all grandparents and grandchildren. No membership is required, but members and their children are admitted free. Cost is $5 per adult (cash only). The dress is casual, so come as you are!
Sweethearts Ball
Rhine Hall Entertainment and Event Venue, 507 N. Union St., will hold a Sweethearts Ball to benefit HOPE Autism and Other Disabilities Awareness, on Fri., Feb. 14. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy an evening of enchantment while helping people excel. This 18 and over event includes a photobooth, featured drinks, sweet treats provided by The Local Catering Co. Music will be provided by DJ Jansen, and the event will feature special guest Obtuse Magic. Tickets are $35 each or $60 per couple. Professional Firefighters of Kokomo Local 396 will hold the inaugural Marty Myers Legacy Conference on Sat., Feb. 15, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Kokomo High School, 2501 S. Berkley Road. Join them for a day filled with inspiration, learning, and networking. Bobby Eckert of Eckert Fire Tactics with present Urban Engine Operations from 8 a.m. until noon. City of Firsts Game Fest
The annual City of Firsts Game Fest returns to Kokomo Sat., Feb. 15, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3155 S, 200 W. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Doors open at 8:30 a.m., and the last games will be rented at 8:30 p.m. Door prizes will be given away all day long, and there will be swag available to the first 100 attendees. This event is limited to 200 attendees. Learn to play Magic: The Gathering. Participate in Lorcana, Shadowverse Evolve, 7 Wonders, Heroclix, One Piece, Star Wars Unlimited, Yu-Gi-Oh, Altered, Splendor, and Pokemon tournaments. Play Battletech or Dungeons and Dragons or rent one of the many tabletop games available through the Gen Con Games Library. Pay $20 per person or $60 per person prior to the event to play games all day. Cost increases to $25 per person at the door on the day of the event. New this year, Scanlines Arcade will offer pinball all day at the event. Purchase a wristband for $5 to play up to four hours or pay $10 to play pinball all day. Food and drink available for purchase on-site. Proceeds will go toward St. Joan of Arc School the St. Vincent dePaul Food Pantry, and children’s education in Haiti. Alumni Day at IUK
Come back to campus on Sat., Feb. 15, to cheer on the IU Kokomo Cougars’ men’s and women’s basketball teams as they face Brescia University. The celebratory event begins at with lunch 11:30 a.m. in Hunt Hall on the IU Kokomo campus, 2300 S. Washington St. WBB alumna Tia Chambers will speak during the meal. The Kokomo CEO Class of 2025 is thrilled to present this year’s class business: a gala. The unforgettable evening will be filled with networking, inspiration, and celebration. On the third Saturday of each month, Fairview Baptist Church holds Cowboy Church. It’s a combination of Southern Gospel, Bluegrass, Hymns and a lot of serious goofing off.
