Sunday in the Park Car Show
Celebrate Father’s Day in style on Sun., June 15, by visiting the Sunday in the Park Car Show from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. There will be a deejay, door prizes, and food vendors, along with plenty of shade. Registration takes place from 9 a.m. until noon. Awards will be presented at 3 p.m. This event is hosted by the Kokomo Automotive Museum.
Carvers Club Exhibition
The Greentown Public Library, 421 S Harrison St., will feature works from the Eastern Woodland Carvers Club in an exhibition through June 15. Visit the Library Community Room during normal operating hours to experience the beauty and skill of hand-carved masterpieces, from intricate sculptures to stunning woodworks, all created by talented artisans.
MONDAY
Adult Summer Reading Program
The Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will hold its annual Adult Summer Reading Program through July 11. Themed “Color Our World,” the program invites you to employ your creativity in a variety of artistic activities as you read. Sign up, receive a reading log. Check out books and turn in your registration sheets to get summer started right! Win fantastic prizes by just reading for two hours. Prizes are awarded for up to 10 hours of reading, and whenever you visit the library to borrow books. Taylor Summer Food Program
The Taylor Community School Corp. will offer a summer food program through June 20. Meals will be free to all children aged 18 or younger with no application or proof of income needed. All meals must be eaten on-site. Adults may purchase a meal for $4. Hand Up Pantry
The Center Township Trustee’s Office has opened its Hand Up Food Pantry at the township office, 213 E. Jefferson St. The pantry is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. The goal is to serve those experiencing food insecurity. Participants must make an appointment by calling 765-452-8259. A photo ID or proof of address is required.
New Baby Bunch
Do you have a new bundle of joy? Or do you feel like you’re in the trenches of parenting? Join the New Baby Bunch for friendship, support, and to share your parenting journey with other caregivers. The group meets each Monday from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road. The next meeting is Mon., June 16. Caregivers with a baby ages birth to 12 months are welcome to participate. Older siblings are welcome to join also.
Meditation Mondays
Experience change, growth, and vitality through meditation with Raine and Sage Healing Center, 901 S. Courtland Ave. Sessions take place every first and third Monday of the month from 10-10:45 a.m. and are free to all. The next session takes place on Mon., June 16.
Stuffed Animal Rescue
In this exciting adoption event at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s Russiaville branch, 315 Mesa Dr., each child will have the opportunity to choose their very own miniature stuffed animal from the "Rescue Center" to take home and care for. This event is designed for children ages 0-5 and takes place Mon., June 16, from 10-11 a.m.
Reach Youth Summer Program
Looking for a summer program for the kids while they’re out of school? Turning Point will offer a Reach Youth program, Monday through Friday, through July 25 at its Reach Youth Office, 216 W. Walnut St. From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day, kids will experience educational trips, sports and recreation, social enrichment, arts and crafts, relationship building, and free lunch. Sew Much
Teens and adults can drop in to learn sewing or quilting basics or get help with their projects at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s Sew Much event on Mon., June 16, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sewing machines provided. This event takes place at the library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road.
Preschool Programs at Greentown Library
The Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will offer a variety of programs throughout the summer for preschoolers. Register for these sessions by calling 765-628-3534. On Mondays in June, enjoy Babes in Story Land from 11-11:30 a.m. This program is designed for children ages 0-2. Every Tuesday in June from 10:30-11:30 a.m. will bring Story Hour for children ages 4-5, beginning June 3. On Thursdays in June from 11-11:30 a.m., relive your favorite Mother Goose tales with your 3-year-olds. On Mon., June 30, get messy with your preschoolers as you paint as 4th of July t-shirt, beginning at 11 a.m. On Tue., July 1, at 11 a.m., it’s time for your little ones to make friends and explore color. On Thu., July 3, Wrangler and Friends visit the library at 11 a.m. to show how much Wrangler loves color.
Recovery Café
Turning Point – A System of Care offers the Recovery Café, a time to connect with love, show respect, cultivate compassion, practice forgiveness, encourage growth, and to give something back. KPRD Recreation Adventure
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department will hold its Recreation Adventure Program at Highland, Bon Air, and Mohr parks through July 8. On Monday through Friday each week, from noon until 5 p.m., staff will be on hand at each park to offer leadership and organized games and sports for children, who may come and go on their own. Playgrounds will be supervised during these times. The staff also will offer arts and crafts, games, picnics, storytelling, and on Fridays they will offer special crafts. The cost of crafts will be $1 or less.
LEGOs at the Greentown Library
Throughout June, the Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will hold special programming each Monday from 2-3 p.m. On Mon., June 16, build, design, and create with LEGOs. Explore the exciting world of building and architecture, using your imagination to construct amazing structures with LEGOs, which must remain in the library.
Adult Technology Camp
Join the Digital Den at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library on Mon., June 16, from 3-4:30 p.m. for a weekly class on all of the basics for technology in 2025. Also, learn how to stay safe online. Super Explorers Camp
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department will offer its Super Explorers and Junior Super Explorers camps this summer. The Junior Super Explorers Camp runs from June 16-20 for children ages 5-8. Super Explorers Camp for ages 9-11 takes place June 23-27. Registration is open now, and the cost is $30 per child. Visit the parks department office in Highland Park to register.

Drums Alive!

Free Summer Food Bags
This summer, all Tipton County families with kids under age 17 can register to pick up a free weekly food bag. Through Aug. 2, the bags will be available at the Tipton County Family Resource Center, 3021 W. Old St. (Ind. 28), as well as the Boys and Girls Club, and the Love Bug Café, 222 S. Independence St. The pick-up times are Mondays from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Each bag includes shelf-stable, kid-friendly food items along with a voucher for hot food from The Love Bug Café. Register in person at the Family Resource Center or call 765-667-7001 for additional information. The summer food bag program is accepting donations and volunteers throughout the summer. Northwestern Schools Summer Meals
Northwestern School Corp. will offer a summer meal program, free to all friends ages 18 and under. Meal pick-up will be available at Howard Elementary School, 3526 N, CR 300 E, at Door 2, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. every Tuesday. The last day of distribution will be July 15. Tzion Community Food Pantry

Summer Lunch Program
The Kokomo Housing Authority, Bridgeway Church, United Way Serving Howard and Tipton Counties, the Howard County Health Department, the Center Township Trustee’s Office, Solidarity Community Federal Credit Union, Northview Church, and Crossroads Community Church have collaborated to launch the Howard County Summer Lunch Program. Each Wednesday through July 23, all students from Howard County are eligible to receive a hot meal from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Bon Air Park, Garden Square Apartments, and Pine Valley Apartments. They also can receive a grab-n-go bag of food during each event. If there are hot meals still available at the end of each event, adults may purchase a hot meal for $5. Wednesdays at the Greentown Library
The Summer Reading Program at the Greentown Public Library, 421 E. Harrison St., is packed with activities for children. Each Wednesday at 1 p.m. through early July, the library will feature special programming. On June 18, discover how to make scratch art sheets. Then, design a creation to take home and enjoy. On June 25, create a colorful sun catcher to brighten up any space. On July 2, dive into the MESStival and leave with a messy masterpiece of your own. On July 9, design a one-of-a-kind paper collage placemat using paper scraps. Take it home the same day, or leave it to be laminated.
Café Wednesdays
Welcome Table, a new Christian community will hold Café Wednesdays from 2-4 p.m. at the Starbucks next to the Markland Mall. Stop by, hand out, and learn more about how they welcome, include, and value all God’s beloved children. Soul Café worship gatherings will begin at Easter time. Juneteenth at KHCPL
Celebrate Juneteenth with the Kokomo Howard County Public Library on Wed., June 18, from 6-7:30 p.m. as the Freetown Village Singers perform on the Firefly Stage at the library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road. Preserving African American traditions and culture through storytelling and song, the Freetown Village Singers of Indianapolis describe their presentation as an interactive collection of traditional folk songs and Negro Spirituals. Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
Miniature Painting
Grab your miniatures and join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library on Wed., June 18, from 6-7:30 p.m. to paint alongside professional miniature painter John Brothers in the Digital Den, 220 N. Union St. He will share tips and tricks to teach you the techniques to make your monsters and characters look amazing. Paint and brushes will be supplied. Kokomo Park Band Concert
The Kokomo Park Band returns on Wed., June 18, to perform a Spotlight on Youth, beginning with a pre-concert at 7 p.m. before the regular concert at 7:30 p.m. on the Highland Park Stage. The concert will feature guest conductor Steve Pratt as he leads the band through Variations on a Korean Folksong. The Youth Multicultural Rhythm Ensemble will perform during the pre-concert. Kingdom Come Festival
Always One Ministries presents the 16th annual Kingdom Come Festival at the Howard County Vietnam Veterans Organization Healing Field, 4973 S., CR 650 W. Taking place Thu., June 19, through Sat., June 21, KCF is the largest free Christian Rock Festival in the Midwest, with approximately 5,000 attendees in 2024, drawing people from all over the Midwest and beyond. Fridays at the Greentown Library
The Summer Reading Program at the Greentown Public Library, 421 E. Harrison St., is packed with activities for children. Each Friday at 1 p.m. through early July, the library will feature special programming. On June 20, go Somewhere Over the Rainbow with the library. Follow the yellow brick road and gather all the pieces needed to create a rainbow craft. Don’t miss this choose-you-own-adventure experience! On June 27, declare a Color War! Meet on the Comet Trail near the T-ball field to jog through rainbow clouds, then cool off with a splash on the library lawn. On July 11, it’s time to Taste the rainbow, wrapping up the reading program with rainbow-themed snacks.

Mystic Chess Quest
Join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library, 220 N. Union St., on Fri., June 20, from 2-4 p.m. to engage in a little life-size chess. Checkmate has never been this enchanting! This event is designed for children ages 8-13.
Paint-Over
Teens can put their own spin on classic works of art at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library, 220 N. Union St., on Fri., June 20, from 2:30-5 p.m. Should Starry Night have a UFO? Maybe there are ghosts in Monet's Poppies. Pick your favorite classic piece and add your own vision. Teens only.
Summerfest Weekend
Summerfest Weekend returns to Kokomo June 20-22, featuring entertainment, food, and shared experiences. Join your friends and neighbors on Fri., June 20, for an evening great music from The Toy Factory, which will perform from 7-10 p.m. The weekend also will feature a two-day, double-elimination, 3-on-3 basketball tournament on June 21-22 as well as the 6th Annual Bobby Pettigrew Kickball Tourney. Registration for the kickball tourney can be made by emailing bpmc765@gmail.com. The registration fee is $25. The Summerfest Weekend wraps up on Sunday, June 22, with a day of R&B Bingo, food, and activities.
Robots Rock! Family Movie Night
Join the Howard County Recycling District, the Russiaville Community Outreach, and the Kokomo Howard County Public Library, 315 Mesa Dr., as we create our very own robots out of recycled materials. Then, stick around to watch the movie adaptation of the beloved children's book by Peter Brown. This event takes place on Fri., June 20, from 8-10:30 p.m.

Yoga in the Park
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department welcomes back Yoga in the Park, featuring 11 free yoga sessions in three different public parks. The sessions are open to all skill levels and are totally free to the public. Classes will take place in Jackson Morrow Park at the shelter from 6-7 p.m. on Sat., July 12, Aug. 9, and Sept. 20. Highland Park will host classes at the Earthen Stage from 8-9 a.m. on Sat., June 21, July 19, and Aug. 2. Foster Park will feature yoga at the Performing Arts Pavilion from 8-9 a.m. on Sat., June 28, July 16, Aug. 23, and Sept. 6. KPRD does not supply mats or other equipment.
Kokomo Farmers Market
The Downtown Kokomo Farmers Market returns Sat., June 21, from 9 a.m. until noon at the corner of Mulberry and Washington street. The KHCPL Bookmobile will make a stop at the market this week! Bike Safety Rodeo
Grab your bike and helmet and join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library on Sat., June 21, from 10 a.m. until noon, as the Russiaville Police Department teaches bike safety. If you don't have a helmet, the library will have one for you. This event takes place at the library’s Russiaville branch, 315 Mesa Dr.
Garden Stroll
The Howard County Master Gardeners Association presents the 24th annual Garden Stroll on Sat., June 21, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tour beautiful gardens in the community, starting at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road. The library serves as the welcome center for the event, featuring bracelet making, a plant sale, and vendors. General admission for the event is $10. Children ages 12 and under are admitted free.
Reading with Pet Partners
Kids can practice their reading skills by reading to trained therapy animals at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library, 220 N. Union St., on Sat., June 21, from 11 a.m. until noon.
Juneteenth at the Museum
The Howard County Museum will commemorate Juneteenth by offering free admission to the Seiberling Mansion, 1200 W. Sycamore St., on Sat., June 21, from 1-4 p.m.

Welcome Table Worship Café
The Welcome Table Worship Café, an informal, weekly worship gathering, takes place each Saturday. Share food and worship while inviting, welcoming, including, and valuing God’s beloved children at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road, at 4 p.m. each Saturday. However, on June 21, the Worship Café will participate in the Kokomo Pride Festival, located in the 500 block of North Buckeye Street. On June 28, the Worship Café will take place at Big Ben Coffee at the intersection of Jefferson and Philips streets.
Juneteenth Summer Celebration
Join the Kokomo Housing Authority and Carver Community Center on Saturday, June 21, from 4-10 p.m. for a vibrant day filled with delicious food vendors, unique merchandise booths, exciting kids’ activities, quarter Bingo fun, and live entertainment. The event will take place around the courthouse square in downtown Kokomo. As part of the event, "The Best of Kokomo" Food Contest will take place. Competitors will cook up their best dishes to be judged by an expert panel, and the crowd will get a chance to vote for “People's Choice.” The Juneteenth Summer Celebration is sponsored by NiSource Charitable Foundation at NIPSCO, Smith Financial, and Bucheri McCarty & Metz LLP. Cowboy Church
On the third Saturday of each month, Fairview Baptist Church holds Cowboy Church. It’s a combination of Southern Gospel, Bluegrass, Hymns and a lot of serious goofing off. The next Cowboy Church will take place at 5 p.m. on Sat., June 21. Fairview Baptist Church is located at 2108 E Vaile Ave. behind the Walmart Plaza.
