Valentine Assembly Line
Join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library as it creates a Valentine Assembly Line at its south branch, 1755 E. Center Road. Gather at the library on Sun., Jan. 19, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. to take part in a community initiative designed to bring joy and love to seniors in our community during the Valentine’s season.
Looking for ‘Artivists’
With the theme “The Art That Moved the Movement,” the 2025 edition of Ivy Tech Kokomo’s annual “Doing the Dream” event will include an exhibition of work submitted by a variety of “artivists.” This is the 21st year Ivy Tech Kokomo has presented the annual events to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Artists – emerging and established, student and professional, local and nationwide – are invited to submit work for the exhibition scheduled during “Doing the Dream” activities Feb. 6 and 7 on the Ivy Tech Kokomo Campus. Tuskeegee Exhibit at Artworks
The national traveling exhibition “Tuskeegee Airmen: America’s Freedom Flyers” will be on display at the Kokomo Art Association’s Artworks Gallery, 210 N. Main St., beginning Jan. 19. The exhibition will be open for free exhibition tours to community groups, churches, and schools, with educational curriculum and activity packets available during the tour. Artworks Gallery is open Mon.-Sat. from noon until 4 p.m. Additional exhibition tour times can be made possible by special arrangement. MLK Day of Service
Indiana University Kokomo, in collaboration with the Carver Community Center, will hold its MLK Day of Service on Mon., Jan. 20, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The day’s events will include a community march to the MLK statue in Kokomo, service projects at Carver Center, an MLK performance, and a MLK t-shirt and lunch for all registered participants. The event takes place at the Carver Center, 1030 N. Purdum St., with a 9 a.m. check-in, followed by the community march at 9:30 a.m. Service projects begin at 10 a.m., and lunch will be served as noon. Meditation Mondays
Experience change, growth, and vitality through meditation with Raine and Sage Healing Center, 901 S. Courtland Ave. Sessions take place every first and third Monday of the month from 10-10:45 a.m. and are free to all. The next session takes place on Mon., Jan. 20.

KPRD Softball
Registration for the Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department’s softball leagues – men’s, women’s, and co-ed – will open on Jan. 20 and close on Fri., Feb. 28. League organizational meetings will take place on Tue., March 4, at 6:30 p.m. in Rodgers Pavilion at Highland Park. League play begins April 21. Diamond practice books will open and schedule pick-up information will be provided at the organizational meetings. Teams will be registered on a first come, first served basis. Kickboxing
The Kokomo Family YMCA, 114 N. Union St., offers Kickboxing with Joanna each Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. in the Y’s Functional Fitness Room. The class combines cardio, boxing, and martial arts to create a dynamic program. Punch and kick your way to a healthier you. This class is open to YMCA members. YMCA Adult Volleyball League
