MONDAY
Community Food Drive
The Center Township Trustee’s Office is holding its second annual Community Food Drive through March 31. The drive will benefit the office’s Hand Up Food Pantry. The office is accepting donations of dry cereal, pasta, pasta sauce, peanut butter, jelly, canned vegetables, beans, and fruit, crackers, juice, and granola/cereal bars. Donations may be dropped off at the township office, 213 E. Jefferson St., from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8 a.m. until noon on Fridays. Hand Up Pantry
The Center Township Trustee’s Office has opened its Hand Up Food Pantry at the township office, 213 E. Jefferson St. The pantry is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. The goal is to serve those experiencing food insecurity. Participants must make an appointment by calling 765-452-8259. A photo ID or proof of address is required.
Spring Break Camp
The Carver Community Center, 1030 N. Purdum St., will hold a Spring Break Camp for kids in grades K-8 March 31-April 4. Camp will run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Camp activities will include arts and crafts, sports and fitness, life skills, a game room, and basketball training. New Baby Bunch
Do you have a new bundle of joy? Or do you feel like you’re in the trenches of parenting? Join the New Baby Bunch for friendship, support, and to share your parenting journey with other caregivers. The group meets each Monday from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road. The next meeting is Mon., March 31. Caregivers with a baby ages birth to 12 months are welcome to participate. Older siblings are welcome to join also.
Sew Much
Teens and adults can drop in to learn sewing or quilting basics or get help with their projects at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s Sew Much event on Mon., March 31, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sewing machines provided. This event takes place at the library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road.
Recovery Café
Turning Point – A System of Care offers the Recovery Café, a time to connect with love, show respect, cultivate compassion, practice forgiveness, encourage growth, and to give something back. Story Time – Peek-A-Boo Playdate
Join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library for baby story time, a delightful program filled with playful rhymes, fun stories, beginner sign language, and songs for babies and toddlers. This Peek-A-Boo Playdate takes place Tue., April 1, from 10-10:30 a.m. at the library’s main branch, 220 N. Union St., and is designed for children ages 0-2.
Drums Alive! Golden Beats

Seiberling Staycation
A Spring Break Staycation is a great time to tour the Seibering Mansion and Howard County Museum, 1200 W. Sycamore St. The Museum will be open Tue., April 1, through Sun., April 6, from 1-4 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults. Students K-12 are admitted for $5. Children ages 5 and under visit for free. April Showers Gentle Yoga
Embrace the energy of renewal with a playful, gentle yoga sequence inspired by the unpredictable nature of April Showers. No prior yoga experience required. Tiny II Exhibition
The Kokomo Art Association will hold the Tiny II Exhibition from April 1-26. This exhibition will feature 2D artwork measuring no more than 8 square inches and 3D art measuring no more than 8 cubic inches. The exhibition takes place at the Kokomo Art Center, 525 W. Ricketts St.

Rising Star Vocal Competition
Do you have what it takes to be a Rising Star? Rhine Hall Entertainment and Event Venue, 507 N. Union St., will hold a Rising Star Vocal Competition, and video auditions will be accepted from April 1-30. This event will feature three rounds of elimination competition on May 30, June 13, and June 27, with the finalists competing on July 18 for the top prize of $500. There will be hundreds of dollars in other prizes awarded to competitors. To enter, submit a video audition featuring your solo singing performance of no more than three minutes. It can be a Capella or with accompaniment. The music can be original or a cover. The video should be submitted to info@rhinehall.com. It is free to submit an audition. Café Wednesdays
Welcome Table, a new Christian community will hold Café Wednesdays from 2-4 p.m. at the Starbucks next to the Markland Mall. Stop by, hand out, and learn more about how they welcome, include, and value all God’s beloved children. Soul Café worship gatherings will begin at Easter time. Spring into Tech Adult Technology Classes
Spring into tech by learning from Kokomo experts on the basics of computers, smart phones, scam prevention, and cyber security. Thanks to Community First Bank and Elsewhen Technology, the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s Digital Den, 201 N. Union St., will hold this adult technology class on Wednesdays at 3 p.m. On April 2, Jeff Hodson, President of Elsewhen Technology, will discuss cybersecurity. High School Exhibition
Come show support for the talent and creativity of area high school juniors and seniors in the 27th Annual High School Exhibition, taking place at the IU Kokomo Art Gallery, 2300 S. Washington St. Seven schools from the surrounding area will be participating this year. The artworks on display will include a variety of different media ranging from: drawing, painting, ceramics, mixed media and much more. The exhibition will be displayed through April 2. Gallery hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and is always free and open to the public.

Miniature Painting
Grab your miniatures and join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library on Wed., April 2, from 6-7:30 p.m. to paint alongside professional miniature painter John Brothers in the Digital Den, 220 N. Union St. He will share tips and tricks to teach you the techniques to make your monsters and characters look amazing. Paint and brushes will be supplied. Blind Tiger Comedy Open Mic
The Blind Tiger Comedy Open Mic show takes place on the first Wednesday of each month at the Elbow Room, 1004 N. Washington St. The next open mic night will be held on April 2. This event is free to attend, and you are welcome to try your hand at comedy.
Weather Spotter Training
The National Weather Service relies on well-trained weather spotters with their timely and accurate reports to aid in the warning process and help save lives in their local communities. It will hold virtual Weather Spotter training on Wed., April 2. This training will discuss the role of trained weather spotters, what to look for while staying safe, how to report severe weather, and how those reports are conveyed and used, not only by the NWS but also by emergency management officials, local media partners, and the general public. This interactive, live, virtual training will last between 90 minutes and 2 hours with time for questions and answers at the end. To register, click here.
The Uncanny Exhibition
The IU Kokomo Art Gallery is searching for something strange. The Uncanny Exhibition will take place June 4-25, and the gallery is inviting artists to submit their unnatural or otherworldly artwork. The exhibition will feature art that is unordinary or eerie; works that evoke a strange and unexplainable aura, making viewers question reality. Runner’s Blueprint
Starting Thu., April 3, the Kokomo Family YMCA, 114 N. Union St., will offer Runner’s Blueprint -- guidance, motivation, and coaching for runners of all levels, from beginners to experienced athletes. Whether you want to maintain or increase your fitness or improve your racing performance in the 5K to half-marathon range, this class is for you. In addition to training sessions, we will hold weekly discussions covering topics such as nutrition, footwear, training techniques, mindset, and general fitness practices. Classes are held on Thursdays at 11:00 a.m. in the Functional Fitness room.

Shelter Planning and Prep
When disasters strike, there’s often no time to look up what you should do. You have to know what you should do. CrisisReady Howard County will cover various sheltering scenarios on Thu., April 3, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Century Villa Community Room, 705 N. Meridian St., Greentown. Learn where to take shelter, how to seal your home from a chemical hazard, and what you should take with you when you evacuate. Plus, learn about identifying an opioid overdose and proper Narcan administration, presented by the Howard County Health Department. Free preparedness items and resources will be available to participants.

Kokomo Bobkats Basketball

YMCA Pickleball Tournaments
The Kokomo Family YMCA will offer two mixed doubles Pickleball double-elimination tournaments in two different age divisions. For players ages 50+, join the YMCA on Sat., April 5, to see if your team can make it to the top! On Sat., April 12, teams of players ages 18-49 will compete. Start time is 9 a.m. for each tourney. Both tournaments are available to YMCA members and non-members. Feel free to bring your own paddles and indoor pickleballs.
